Pale cloudy yellow orange color. A slight yeasty aroma. A slight lacing on the glass and a bit of a tang.

2013-05-31. Hazy golden yellow orange body with a modest white head. Aroma is spicey, sort of grainy wheat character. Flavour is bizarre melange of spice and fruit, light bitterness, odd tangy quality to it. Almost lychee like character? 6+ Grows on me a bit after an off putting first sip. Average bodied palate, soft carbonation. 3+ Okay, still a bit odd. Perplexing. On tap at Mondial de la Biere 2013, Montreal

On tap @ Benelux (Montréal). Unclear golden/orange with a small white head and light lacing. Aroma of spices, Saison yeast, acidic notes and herbal presence. Taste is slightly to moderately sweet with malt, acidic notes and coriander finish. Medium body. Soft to medium carbonation. Ok Saison, but not one I would buy again.

(Rating #4274)

"Belette Brett". Slightly bretty and with some gluey malts. Light fruity and dry character. Decent balance, and will improve as the brett chews into the extra malts.

draught@brewpub - hazy blond beer with a poor head retention; a bit yeasty and fairly grapefruity; fairly acidic; a rather thin malt backbone; quite dry fruity and yeasty finish with more brett-like reminiscence - refreshing and very drinkable

My Bottom Line :
Dry and citrusy, this Saison quickly moves into herbal hops and its brett-y flavor brethren for a quenching pint.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A slice of foam covers the hazy blonde.
-This isn’t a complex Saison, but it is highly enjoyable.
-Carbonation could be fluffier.
-The finish is lightly tart and bitter.
-Bottle conditioning would do wonders to this brew; this tap serving just doesn’t achieve the same mouthfeel.

On tap at the brewpub.

Draft at the brewpub. Hazed gold. Aroma not bretty, maybe it hasnt matured yet? Has soft white fruit, mangosteen and kumquat skin and pith. Soft and healthy palate in which the Brett emerged. Dry, yay! Meaty with passionfruit, but not tart. Dry, clean, refreshing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

In short: A slightly rustic, slightly sweet, slightly spicy flowery blonde Saison. Nice
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Almost clear blond body topped by a long-lasting small white head
In long: Nose is moderately rustic with a mild floral spiciness. Taste has crisp crackery malts, dried white bread, some residual sugars, fresh red apples, dandelions, grass, flowers. There is a bit too much sweetness on the attack for I like to get in a Saison but the dry spicy flowery finish makes up for it. A very nice beer. I drank this beer hanging out with my New-York friends while they were in town, and one thing is certain, I’ll never have to tell any of my American friends to speak louder.
