WeeHeavySD (2188), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Oct 24, 2007 On tap @ brew pub shared with Glouglouburp . Pours orange/brown with an off white half finger head. The nose is cinamonny and pumpkin pie. Nose is very creamy like pumpkin pie filling. Taste is good, pumpking some spice and overall nice. Glouglouburp (2157), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Oct 16, 2007 In short: Well put-together standard pumpkin beer
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Partly cloudy orangy-copper with a small beige head
In long: As a beer it is spicy but as a pumpkin beer (that tend to be rather spicy) this is only moderately spicy. You’ve got your usual pumpkin beer array of spices including but not limited to cinnamon, nutmeg, etc… The beer is also quite fruity and juicy with what I believe is real pumpkin (although I never had any). A bit sweet, a bit more so than the average pumpkin pie I think. I’m not sure it is because I had their Rye Pale Ale just before but I was getting a lot of rye flavours from this one?!? Medium body, medium carbonation. A solid pumpkin ale that plays it safe and doesn’t overdo anything. The style is not very exciting but it is a nice Halloween tradition. I like Halloween, the one day of the year nobody makes fun of my cloths.
