The color is dark amber and very cloudy. It has a swwet citrus flavor with a hoppy aroma to it.The bitter taste is long lasting and that makes it very pleasant.

My Bottom Line:
This softspoken Bitter promotes bready cereals and their light caramelization atop firm leafy, wooden hop bitterness for a very clean yet not very compelling quaffer.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the honeyed golden-amber.
-Some orangey and passionfruit-like fruitiness seem to stick to the residual sugars.
-The CO2-fed mouthfeel is of course not very authentic for the style, but apart from that it certainly does not detract from its high drinkability.
-The mild caramel may take on maple syrup angles at times.
-This fall 2008 batch was hopped with English hops only, whereas the previous batch was with US-grown English-style hops.

On tap at the brewpub.

Hazy amber-orangeish hue, with a small beige head, yeasty fruity peachy nose, with some toasted malts, biscuity and cookie dough accents, faint floral hops in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a nice yeasty, sweet caramelized malt character, with a citrus flowery hop note, hint of pineyness, a bit toasty, leading towards a lingering leafy hops bitterness finish.

Cloudy dark orange with a mostly lasting small white head. Earthy orange flavour backed by a crisp candyish caramelized body. Light but tasty and rather hoppy with a pretty strong grassy bitterness. Long finish. Silky mouthfeel. Feels sweet for only a 4%. Some desert fruits (kiwi, etc) and herbs round-up the flavour spectrum. Enjoyable Bitter but not very british at all. Nice session ale. Pretty good at what it is… would suck as a cake.

Moyenne effervescence. Présence d’agrumes en arrière goût. Rating #824)
