Sampled @ le Festival Bieres et saveurs

App.: Extremely dasrk brown poor, no head, looks fad...

Aromas: Humidity, chocolate, black cherries, hints of coffee (moka)... carrots?

Palate: Full bodied, flat, harsh bitter start that slowly fades... good sweetness

Flavors: Toast, burnt caramel, molasses

Notes: Not a classic impy... closer to a belgian style imperial stout... dissapointing

Deguster a Bieres et Saveurs. Saveurs de chocolat, cafe, grains roties, fruits foncer et confits et de melasse. Enorme complexiter. J ai bien aimer. Tasted at Bieres et Saveurs. Chocolate, coffee, roasted grains, dark and candied fruits and molasse flavors. Very complex. I liked it!

Pitch black color, with a creamy tan-colored head, leaving laces, light yeasty, roasty, fruity nose, with some dark bitter chocolate accents, and some floral hop leafy, coniferous, kind of apricot and peach aromas follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, fruity, sweet roasty malt character with a nice flowery hop grassy, leafy accent, still has a fruity side of apricot and peach, it could be the same yeast stein used for the ergot, with a roasted coffee bean bitterness, leading towards a fruity, roasty hop bittering finish.

A Serviceable RIS, however there are so many good and great ones out there. Roast, medium mouthfeel. Black with mocha head. Strong roast aroma.
