Verre de 10 oz, d’un fût au pub. Arômes de levure saison épicée et de houblon européen. Robe orangée, belle mousse. Moyennement ronde en bouche, la levure et un malt sucré accompagnent un côté bien houblonné. L’alcool est relativement apparent et donne un côté sirupeux à la bière. La version goûtée était très jeune, il sera intéressant de voir l’évolution de ce brassin.

On tap @ Mondial 2008. Aroma has some fine malt, with a nice fruit insurgence. cloudy apricot, almost no head. Flavour begins with a big hit of that fine malt, then some juicy red plums, peaches and apricots. Medium bodied, well balanced, sour/sweet and dry. Great!

2008-05-31. Orangey dark amber body with a tiny beige ring of head. (3+) Interesting fruit aroma, sweet citrus and fruit that I want to call lychee but I don’t think that’s quite right, mild hops. (7+) Flavour has a similar fruit character over top a slightly sweet malt base finishing lightly tart and bitter. smooth average to medium palate. One of Quebec’s treasures.<br /> <br /> <i>Further Personal Perceptions:</i><br /> -A thick layer of foam covers the misty gold.<br /> -A little alcohol heat is felt in the back.<br /> -The crystallised flower petal notes are mesmerizing.<br /> -Carbonation is prickly, perhaps not cozy enough to properly emulate authentic examples of the style.<br /> -You can imagine coriander seeds in the nose.<br /> -The finish is full of herbal, floral hop bitterness.<br /> -Bubblegum and banana notes are whipped up by the yeast.<br /> <br /> <b>On tap at the brewpub a few times now.</b>

Pours a cloudy golden color with a thin white head. The cereals are very proheminent in the aroma, especially the rye and a pleasant biscuity maltyness, there’s also hops, yeast and citrus in the aroma. The flavor has a pleasant blend of rye, biscuity malt, citrus, hops with a mild bitter finish. Although good, the flavor doesn’t have the strong cereal presence that you find in the nose, there’s also some sweetness I could have done without. The body has a light to medium thickness with an oily texture and moderate carbonation.
