I believe this is what I had @ Mondial 2008, named Gaia? Smells of wheat, malt and cloves, hazy orange/yellow, tiny white head. Taste is a lemony wheat? Light bodied, not very refreshing. Poor example.

(Draught) Sampled at the Brewpub. Pours a headless, golden body. Nose is average banana. Medium, tonic body. Thin, wet wheat, cardboard and lemon.

Super hazy, murky honey gold hue, with a thick white head, yeasty, fruity bananaish nose, with a cinnamon, nutmeg spicy accent, some honeyed ripe apple fruitiness, some wet wheaty, sweet pale malt aromas follow through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, spicy, zesty, subtle acidic banana-like character, with a wheaty, wet pale malt note, a faint vanilla accent, with a citrus orangeish fruity note, leading towards a honeyish, fruity acidic finisgh

(Rating #1469)

As murky as Gutmann’s hefeweizen, this is a completely opaque, glowing/radioactive golden pour. Almost no head. I was quite under that colour’s charm, so I’m going with a 4 despite the head’s limitations. Not too aromatic surprisingly. I wonder what yeast strain this might be? Obvious banana shows up from the first sniff, but the rest feels mostly like dulled-down yeastiness. Quite dry in mouth. Almost an oxymoron as it is really heavy in mouth, thick and surprisingly not very carbonated. Mostly like a thick, only sparsely carbonated, texture. At the same time, the flavours are timid, amputated by this overwhelming dry, almost musty yeastiness. Not much wheat flavour extraction, minimal phenols. Just not feeling very focused, like the yeast did not take the wanted direction because this is ultimately not refreshing at all, although it remains drinkable all throughout.
