A hazed reddish brown ale with a thin brown head. In aroma, a beautiful woody caramel malt with treacle, vinous notes, bourbon, very nice, alcohol warmth. In mouth, a nice licorice malt with bourbon barrel, grassy hops, loads of warming alcohol, as usual, beautiful. On tap at Cactus, Dec 21 2012.

2014 660ml bottle from Halles St-Jean. Aroma: nuts, caramel, dark red fruits, vanilla extract and a hint of whiskey. app: hazy brown, murky. Huge head. Nice lacing. taste and palate: full body, medium sweetness, average carbonation, light acidity and alcohol finish. overall: wow! Pretty good. Really enjoy this one. This is quite strong but at the same time so easy to drink. Really really well balanced.

On tap at Benelux. Loads of sweet boozy aroma. Maroon body, nice lacing. Lots of bourbon, smoke, sweet dried fruit. A really fabulous beer I must say.

Pours dark somewhat murky brown with a decent beige head. Aroma brings some barbecue, sweet and smoky notes balanced well with the barrels noticeably there, but not hot. Flavor brings a complex brown ale sweet and tangy malt flavor, smooth notes from the barrel as well like in the nose are nice on the palate.

Bottle. Heavy roasted aroma fo the malt, moderate cooked orange for the hops, and dough fo the yeast, with background notes of toffee, date, aisin, brown sugar and port wine.Head is tiny, wispy, off-white with a spot or two of lacing and good legs, and is almost fully diminishing. Color is murky dark red/brown. Flavor starts moderately to heavily sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes moderately sweet and faintly bitter. Palate is medium to full, syrupy, with a soft carbonation, and finishes sticky on the lips. This American Strong Ale aged very well in the bottle.lasting aromas and lingeing flavors with nothing off in the least.
