Blonde-amber color, with a small beige head, mild grape bubblegum yeastiness, toasted, caramel, biscuity malt nose, with an earthy wet cut straw accent, and a faint honeyed fruitiness, light citrus floral hop note in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a nice sweet crunchy toasted, caramelized, biscuity malt, cereal character, with a light grape bubblegum yeastiness, bran muffin flavors, with a faint honeyed granola bar, mild flowery leafy, grassy hop backbone, leading towards a good toasty, biscuity maltiness, lingering faint citrus hop bitterness finish.

My Bottom Line :
Honeyed malt notes dominate this Heller Bock’s leafy, dusty hop signature for a pleasant, sweetish example of the style.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A sheet of foam stays atop the misty dark golden.
-The chewy mouthfeel and dusty edges didn’t detract from enjoyment, but they made the brew feel a tad less refined than the average Benelux creation.
-Crisper (and more delicate) malts would have been more pleasant to me.
-Wooden hops balance out the sugars in the finish.
-Alcohol is not a bother at all, but I still couldn’t see myself drinking more than a glass of this in an evening.

On tap at the brewpub.

Lubiere (10438) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 9, 2011
A golden bock with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, a light chalky malt with light German hops. In mouth, a smooth chalky sweet malt with light fruity acidity, a bit raspy, mineral and smooth. On tap at brewpub, Sept 3 2011.

On tap at the Brew Pub. Poured a yellow color with a smaller sized white head. Aromas and tastes of toffee, lighter earth, grains, and cereal.

Drank on tap (20 oz) at the brewpub, on July 1st, 2011. Blonde clear, small head. Pale malt aroma slightly sweet, slightly dry hops. Slightly malty flavor, notes of cereal a little sweet, dry bitterness. As the brewer said it could be more malty!
