In short: A hoppy strong golden wheat ale. Very good.
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Lightly cloudy orange-amber body topped by a small off-white head leaving lots of lacings
In long: Nose is fresh oranges, floral hops, cereals. Taste is surprisingly smooth, body is relatively lean, lots of oily toasted wheat, a bit of alcohol heat, orange juice, floral hops, a bit of wheat acidity, strong bitterness. Quite hoppy for the style, I’m not complaining. The most surprising aspect of this beer is that it was actually rather refreshing despite the style and the alcohol heat. This beer is just another reason to drink excessively, because the best thing about getting drunk is everything but tomorrow.

A haze amber wheat wine with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, a sweet pungent vinous banana malt, with light cheesy notes. In mouth, a smooth sweet malt with light fruity esters, bananas, treacle, bock-like, almost German, warming alcohol, still quite nice. On tap at brewpub, Nov. 25 2011.

Hazy orange amber pour. The aroma is quite spicy. Lots of wheat flavour - some spice and a bit of green peppercorn. Lean (for the size) with a lot of hop character on the back of the palate as well. There’s a bit of light herbal character and a touch of mint. Herbal/noble hops hat work pretty well. Dangerously drinkable. Some light fruit and spice. Damn - wish I had more time with this one. Tasty stuff.

[on tap at brewpub] Sweet and sour aroma that is a blend between barleywine and american wheat. Almost clear deep amber under a lasting, off-white top. Flavour is intense up front, with assertive bitterness along with a wheat sourness, and then develops in to a smooth sweet wheat. Balance towards grain, but some detectable hops, and definite hops bitterness. Full body, medium carbonation, smooth finish with some bitterness.

Drank on tap (12 oz) at the brewpub on November 5, 2011. Hazy golden blonde, thin head. Slightly malty aroma of wheat, well hops citrus. Citrus taste slightly acid, very good mixture of wheat and hops, bitter herbs dry. I have not much experience in wheat wine, but I like it!
