on tap at cactus, qc. second batch. unclear brown pour, red tint, with a creamy light beige head, some retention and lacing. roasted malt fruitiness, moderate but present smoke, brown sugar - candi-ish, toasted and lightly caramelized nuts, butterscotch. bit of sweetness. moderate carbonation, medium body - oily, grassy-peppery balanced finish. a nice scotch ale.

On tap at Cactus. A very dark brown with red tints, nice beige head. Smell is caramelsugar, roast. Taste is caramel, creme brulée, slight roast, brown sugar, honey. Lots of malt. Little in the way of bitterness, a touch of herbs? Medium body, slightly oily mouthfeel. Medium to low carbonation. A good scotch.

A reddish brown ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, nice smooth sweet malt with dark fruit, molasses, light peated notes. In mouth, a nice smooth sweet malt with dark fruits, peated notes, light fusel alcohol, interesting. On tap at Cactus, Dec 21 2012.
