Sweet, brown sugar aroma, candied malt and treacle, deep brown, small toffee head. Big roasted malt flavour, pitfruits also. Medium bodied, balanced, sweet and fine, alcohol is hidden. Very good!

Draught. Red-copper with a ring of white head. Aroma is fragrant/perfumey - berries, cookies, and sweet spices. Lively carbonation. Heavy malt accents with some metallic characteristics. Reasonably palatable, just not something I’d drink a whole lot of.
Sampled at the brewpub on June 1, 2007.

Alcohol is initially strong in the vinous and fruity sweet aroma. Phenolics add depth and complexity. Clear burnt copper coloured body topped by a thin but lasting veil of off white head that laces. Chewy, thick malt flavours with notes of gingerbread. Alcohol less apparent in the flavour. Decent bitterness keeps from cloying. Fruits and toasted malts linger in the aftertaste. Medium full body with moderate, soft bubbled carbonation. Sampled on tap at the brewpub in Fall 2006.

On tap at brewpub.
Clear dark amber, fine fizzy top.
Rich, malty aroma, strong malty nose. Soft grainy notes.
Rich , thick , full bodied . Sweet sticky dark ale. Fresh and drinkable at over 8 %. Neat .

On Tap Copper brown poor with a thin off white foamy head... nice lacing as well. Aromas of alcohol, caramel and herbal... Good hops... Nicely carbonated... fresh and has a nice dry non agressive bitter finish. Nicely balanced beer. Added flavors of coriander and caramel...
