DougShoemaker (2680), Toronto, Canada Aug 29, 2007 Sweet, brown sugar aroma, candied malt and treacle, deep brown, small toffee head. Big roasted malt flavour, pitfruits also. Medium bodied, balanced, sweet and fine, alcohol is hidden. Very good! mds (2111), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jun 30, 2007 Draught. Red-copper with a ring of white head. Aroma is fragrant/perfumey - berries, cookies, and sweet spices. Lively carbonation.
Heavy malt accents with some metallic characteristics. Reasonably palatable, just not something I’d drink a whole lot of.

Sampled at the brewpub on June 1, 2007. tiggmtl (4200), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Jun 26, 2007 Alcohol is initially strong in the vinous and fruity sweet aroma. Phenolics add depth and complexity. Clear burnt copper coloured body topped by a thin but lasting veil of off white head that laces. Chewy, thick malt flavours with notes of gingerbread. Alcohol less apparent in the flavour. Decent bitterness keeps from cloying. Fruits and toasted malts linger in the aftertaste. Medium full body with moderate, soft bubbled carbonation. Sampled on tap at the brewpub in Fall 2006. Radek Kliber (3433), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jun 10, 2007 <b>On tap at brewpub.
