A hazy orange amber saison with a thin lacing white head. A classy smooth spiced aroma of fruity esters, light bananas and orange peels. In mouth, a light smooth saison with rye notes, grainy, light curacao. Medium bodied. On tap at brewpub, Jan. 16 2010.

(Rating #2845)

In short: Wild Saison yeast and American style leafy/fruity hops. Nice brew.
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Cloudy golden body topped by a medium white head with medium retention.
In long: Nose is medium-wild and rather hoppy with american style fruity hops. Taste is more of the same. Pleasant wild yeast presence, some fruity notes of citrus, plenty of leafy and fruity hops. The medium resinous bitterness is unusual for a Saison. Medium body, medium carbonation, nice mouthfeel but not very Belgian. Overall this felt as much as a American Pale Ale with a wild yeast as it felt like a Saison hopped the American way. I don’t care if it bastardizes the style, I enjoyed the beer for what it is. And I will continue doing so until I find a way to enjoy a beer for what it is not.

Drank on tap (20 oz) at the brewpub on January 19th 2010. Hazy honey orange, small head. Aroma of pale malt with lots of yeast, notes of spices fruity. Taste of dry hops, slightly fruity, aftertaste of grass not too intense. Not my favorite, but a pretty good season!
