Deep brown. The aroma is well-lagered with some clean malt sweetness. A touch of brown sugar sweetness in addition to some leather. A little it of a herbal type of hoppiness but it’s quite restrained. Some toffee and a bit of milk chocolate (although this is just a backing note). Sweet and clean though.

En fût. Verre de 12 oz dégusté directement à la brasserie. Arôme: Légère odeur de céréales grillées. Apparence: La couleur est noire opaque. Présence d’un mince col beige mousseux et d’une fine dentelle sur le verre. Saveur: Goût de torréfaction avec une pointe de chocolat et de caramel. Durée moyenne de l’arrière goût. Palette: Le corps est moyen avec une texture légèrement onctueuse. Moyenne effervescence en bouche. Légère présence de torréfaction en arrière goût. (Rating #3945)

Very soft and round palate. Butter, coffee and soft bitterness. It is not very complex but it very pleasant to take.

From tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy dark brown to black with a small off-white head. Aroma is mild malty and roasted. Bitter, caramelish and light alcohol presence. Dry caramelish and roasted malty finish with some bitterness.

A dark clear reddish brown porter with a thn brown head. In aroma, a sweet herbaceous chocolate with light powdery off notes. In mouth, a sweet molassey and dry porter with strange roasted and herbaceous notes, a bit burned, not bad but was expecting more. On tap at brewpub, Oct. 14 2011.

On tap at the Brew Pub. Dark brown color with a smaller sized off white head. Roasty, some dark fruits, chocolate, and nuts.

Drank on tap (12 oz) at the brewpub on September 24, 2011. Black, thin head. Aroma of malted barley and licorice, a little smoke. Taste of smoked barley, chocolate licorice, aftertaste of dry and bitter herbs. Not as liqueury, but it’s good!
