Draught pint shared at the brewpub with tiggmtl during the Mondial, 2006. Good thick lacing and a small but creamy and lasting white head top the coppery-clear body....grapefruit, lavender and a lovely earthy pungency tickle the nose....body is very full, juicy with a big rye-sourdough character and lots of citric bitterness from midpalate on to the long finish....resinous character, lovely balance, one of the spicier pale ales I’ve had recently.

(Un verre de bonne dimension. Version 5,7%) Une robe dorée foncée passablement embrouillée. Une dentelle, assurément. Un nez porté vers les fruits du verger avec une nette impression épicée. Le seigle y est pour quelque chose, évidemment. Une pale ale qui me rappelle certaines Anglaises : étrange pour une American Pale Ale. Un goût fruité, la combinaison des houblons et de la levure. Le seigle est toujours présent : on dirait un écolier qui s’empresse de lever la main pour avoir le droit de parole. À travers ces divagations qui n’ont peu d’importance sur nos vies respectives, des malts légèrement confortables : on pourrait dire que nos papilles détectent du caramel. Une bouche bien menée, comme la très grande majorité des offrandes de cette toujours intéressante maison. Une texture qui est donc finement huileuse dans laquelle traverse des bulles intelligentes. Une finale appréciable, houblonnée et épicée.

on tap at quebec city beerfest. malty, piney nose. clear golden with a nice white head, good retention and lacing. hint of sweetness, some caramel malts, long-lingering grapefruit finish. average carbonation, light to medium body.

On tap at the Brew Pub. Poured an amber color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of citrus, grains, some caramel, and floral.

Pas grand chose au nez. Belle couleur ambré translucide. Légèrement sucré, épicé avec un fini assez amer. Pas très parfumé. Agréable.

Tap at the brewery. Very interesting beer. Aromas of citrus, caramel, and grain. Taste is sweet, with bitterness taking over, and average duration. Palate is velvety, and medium bodied. Orange, bubbly, with a frothy head.

Pint on tap at the brew pub. Pours a little darker than a normal Pale Ale. The rye is certainly present in the aroma as well as the hops. Taste was malty and bitter, well balanced. The taste lingered in the back of the mouth for quite a while. Over all, this is another excellent brew from Benelux, I would be more than happy to drink this all the time.

une pinte sur place. ressemble beaucoup à la yakima, j’aime cette bière, très houblonné, piquante, du cascade surement, je ne retrouve pas le seigle. par contre elle est très bonne.

Tap at the Brewpub: Clear orange pour with a white film of head. Some fruity hops notes in the aroma. Mainly mango and a touch of peach. Creamy carbonation, with a nice hops presence in the flavor as well. Fruity and resiny character combine with some estery qualities with just a touch of bubblegum on the back. Finishes with a lightly piny bitterness. Simple, but solid and good to session.

Verre de 20 oz, d’un fût à la brasserie. Arômes de houblons citronnés et de fruits jaunes. Robe cuivrée, peu de mousse et légèrement effervescente. En bouche, elle possède un petit côté velouté et une légère acidité provenant probablement du seigle. On note également une présence fruitée et sucrée de fruits jaunes (prunes jaunes). Le houblon citronné ferme la marche de façon autoritaire pour une Pale Ale.

On tap @ Mondial 2008. Aroma is over the top piney hops, lots of good malt too, deep amber, tiny toffee head. Taste has full on malt, with a pleasant hops kick. Full bodied, alcohol seems strong for the abv? Quite good.
