Complicated, perplexing, a bit confused but enjoyable. Good aroma of hay, yeast, spices and fruits. The flavor has a nice mix of yeast, hay, spices and fruits but it’s sweeter than what I expect in a saison. The body is medium with a creamy and lively texture. tiggmtl (4200), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Dec 31, 2006 Pineapple, mango, hay and pepper notes to the aroma. Really shows it’s lineage well (Dupont yeast). Clear deep golden coloured body is topped by a low, off white head that recedes to a thick ring with good lacing. Lightly musty and fruity flavour with haylike hops quickly eclipsed by clean maltiness. Aftertaste features surprising notes of anis, cola, mint and vanilla. Medium body with moderate and lasting carbonation. Sampled on tap at the brewpub. Glouglouburp (2157), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Nov 1, 2006 Cloudy golden body with a very small white head. Rather strong aroma of candies and honey. Taste is very sweet, some spices, crisp malts, dried honey. The little unexpected bitterness quick bite wasn’t unpleasant. Nice beer just not what I expect from a Saison (Season). Maybe it’s a sign of time, with the climate changes, Seasons just ain’t what they used to be.
