Hazy amber- orange pour. Tight head. The nose is softly fruity. A touch of berry over some light malt sweetness. Moderate bitterness. It ’s fairly well-integrated. Some light sweetness and a touch of pepper. Lingering caramel sweetness without being cloying. Slightly herbal as well. Decent

[cask at brewpub, dry hopped with amarillo] Nice fresh caramel and pine aroma with tropical fruit accents as well as a good dose of strawberry. Hazy bronze with a wispy white, mottled top. Well balanced sweet caramel and medium bitterness that lingers a bit on the palate. Some apple and strawberry notes with the transcendent bitter pine. Sort of "worty". Medium body, low to moderate carbonation, lingering bitterness.

Draught at Benelux. Pours a clear copper with an average size diminishing off-white head. Mild aroma, there’s not much there and it’s hard to get anything from it -- too cold perhaps? A faint whiff of floral hops and caramel malt. Flavour’s malty along with some floral hops, a bit spicy and with a decent, somewhat-long bitter finish.Medium bodied. Pretty good, for an IPA it could be hoppier but it’s still pleasant.

On tap at the brewpub. Appearance: ruby red with a tiny white head. Aroma: a litte yeast, slightest amount of grassy hops. Flavour: malty, lots of carbonation with bitter hops, a little spice with nuts too. Long bitter finish. Not bad at all.

At Benelux. Clear refractive copper-amber with a smallish off white head. Pungently floral aroma with sweet caramel malt - taste follows, very floral and dry taste too - not bad, but how the hell is this an IPA, English or otherwise? Slick and somewhat still mourhfeel, manages to finish sweet and floral-bitter.

A lightly hazed amber ale with a thin off white head. A fresh nutty malt aroma with fresh British hops. In mouth, a grainy malt (fresh mash again), with good British hops, crisp and pleasant. Medium bodied. On tap at brewpub, March 27 2009.

In short: A basic kind-of-english IPA with a leafy/floral hopping that is a bit too perfume-ish. Just ok.
How: Tap at brewpub.
The look: Clear dark golden body topped by a off-white ring of foam
In long: Nose of leafy perfumy hops. Slightly toasted malts. Sweetness takes the form of caramel hard-candies (the opposite if rich round caramel) and a touch of honey. Fruity flavours of citrus fruits and a weird fake powder orange juice like. The floral and leafy hops are too much “garden flowers” and perfumy for my taste. It even had a touch of rosewater. Easy to drink brew but the perfumed character didn’t do it to me. Not a bad beer but not what I was hoping for. Like when a friend told me I could get two teens for the price of one downtown. Burgers?! Not what I was hoping for either.

(Rating #2320)
