Draft. Pours a golden body with a white head and good head retention. Nice dry hoppy grass tones. A bit like the smell of a shrub or bush, did i say hoppy. Prickly with pine and grapefruit notes. A lightly fruity yeast strain that gives off pears, vines, and earth y notes. Plant like nectar and a hint of honey. Very nice.

In short: A sharp, fruity, hoppy and bitter Saison. Very good tasty beer.
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Cloudy dark yellow body topped by a large white head
In long: Nose is rustic yeast, floral and with some scented flowers notes. Taste is quite intense for the style. Big dense body loaded with crisp malts. Lots of dried fruits, candied fruits, fresh fruits (apricots, grapefruits and more). Orange peels. The rustic Saison yeast brings a moderate countryside character. A sharp astringent bitter finish with the orange peels and grapefruits coming out strong. A light acidity. Very nice beer. This is the most recent creation from Benelux. So if someone says he likes the new Zeeland don’t assume he’s one of those sheep lover pervert.

A golden amber saison with a thin white head. In aroma, superb spiced of smooth coriander, orange peels, lactic notes, all very smooth. In mouth, another classic saoson from Benelux, with nice Belgian hops, coriander, quite beautiful. On tap at Mondiale 2010.

Tap at Mondial. Pours a nice clear medium golden and a big fluffy sticky white head- good lace. Aroma is spicy fruity hops, amarillo tropical character along with some Nelson or other white grape, grapefruit and slight dank notes- mostly new zealand like along with some phenolic and fruity yeast character to mix well- gets some tangerine light earthy french character and low malt profile- just doughy and light pils. Flavor is earthy, doughy pils but tons of fruity hops, sauv blanc, tons of grapefruit and pineapple and mango- get some pine and resin towards the end where the medium bitterness hits- 3711 works well to dry this out very nicely even though it ended at around 2 plato- still very dry and refreshing. This was almost a cross between a hopped up saison and a belgian DIPA! Very good.

UPDATED: APR 30, 2011 My Bottom Line:
Pineapple and white grape fruitiness leaps from this New World Saison until coniferous resins and earthy bitterness gain ground on the crunchy cereals.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam surrounds the hazy golden.
-The mouthfeel is extremely refined, slick and prickly. If you’re looking for a Dupont-like rustic Saison, this is not it, but it is still smashing as a hybrid model
-The Nelson Sauvin character is obvious throughout, lending even some farmy personality through its quirky resins.
-The pils malts offer subtle flavors compared to the hops’ personality.
-This is very drinkable (for hopheads).

On tap at the Mondial and at the brewpub.

On tap (12 oz) at the brewpub, May 23, 2010. Misty blonde cream, small head. Malty aroma of a little dry herbs , with hints of spice. Dry medical herbs taste, slightly malty, far from being bitter. Good but what is Zeeland?
