Draft @ Ferdinanda. Thick dark brown with thick thick tan head. Aroma is surprisingly spicy and enticing. The malts smell really dry and like there is caraway here. Soft palate but high carbonation. Slight sourness does not detract but would prefer it not to be there. But overall it’s a nice balanced brew. I especially appreciate how it’s spicy and dark and not sweet.

Dark brown coloured body with a tan head and a bunch of bubbles. Bright aroma of roasted malt, pit fruits and a bit of earthiness. Medium-bodied; Strong malty flavour complete with coffee and nuts, tucked in with sugars and some mild hops. Aftertastes nice and complex - definitely a good beer. Overall, worth trying if you can find it! I sampled this pint on draught at Ferdinanda in Praha, Ceska Republica in March 2008.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 voota (765) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - SEP 2, 2006
Magnificent looking in the glass, a very dark clear amber, with a very fluffy off-white head. Great lacing and retention. Aroma is quite strong, of floral hops with some slight caramel and chocolate. The flavours are all caramel, with some slight hop flavours and a slightly metallic finish. Another good, if unexciting dark lager from the Czechs.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 thewolf (9885) - Kolding, DENMARK - JUL 14, 2008
Tap @ Ferdinanda, Prague.
Pours deep see-through brown. A good, creamy, off-white head on top. Mild sweet aroma with caramel and lightly roasted malts.Okay mouthfeel for the low ABV, powerfully carbonated. Flavour is (very lightly) metallic, good malty sweetnesss, lightly roasted with a fine, chocolate finish that lingers.
