3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Lahev(@Tesco Karlsbad CZ):Deep golden, clear, lazy carbonation, mid-sized creamy white head with a good lace, sweet pale-malty nose with a delicate hoppy background; light to moderate sweet-bitter flavour, light bodied, but with a still detectable malty base; sweetish malty-bready finish, accompanied by a slight balancing hoppy touch. Simple and sweet, but not bad at all…

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
UPDATED: MAY 26, 2005 As Ferdinand Vycepni Pivo Svetle.
Grainy, worty milkiness shyly peeks through the filtered light gold. A ring of head creates no lacing, this is pretty boring so far.
Subtle sweet malt husks suffer from a severe lack of hops. Very "vycepni", this light lager has a well-brewed malt body which sadly is burdened by the near absence of any other flavor. I still prefer water.
Dumbed down for the masses always frustrates me.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
bottle from Hypernova Praha-Nové Butovice. Clear golden yellow colour, large and very creamy white head. Malty nose. Rather full malty body, well-balanced with good aromtaic and bitter hops, resulting in a bitter-sweet character. Very slightly fruity with shy hints of apple. Pleasant carbonation. A superb desítka. Very tasty indeed, as are the other beers from Benesov.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Sold in the states as Ferdinand Lager Beer, 4.0%. Head is initially small, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Aroma is moderately malty (bread), lightly hoppy (flowers). Body is medium to dark yellow. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter, unclean. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, slightly metallic. A rather unclean and flimsy rendition.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: DEC 10, 2005 Not a bad beer, but a bit sweet for my tastes. Golden with a moderate white head, it’s got a grainy, sweet malt aroma with a hint of floral hops. It’s got a fairly good malt/hop balance and ends with a sticky sweet/bitter taste.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Light golden color with a tall fluffy cream colored head. Decent lace. Pale malt and bread, with light floral soap and hints of light smoke and minerals. The aroma does seem to improve as it warms. Quite thin and a touch watery in feel. Dry malt flavor start with a touch of sweetness to follow. Mild mineral and a caffeine bitterness near the finish. Slightly dirty in the middle, but quite crisp in the finish. Really only another pale european lager.

3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: AUG 26, 2006 Excellent in its own style and not bad otherwise. Sampled from the tap. Gold and highly carbonated. Long lasting white head. Light hop aroma, and light bitter flavor; light all around. If you called it a pilsner, I wouldn’t call you a liar.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Golden colour and an unbelievably lively head, whatever that means...!? Bitterfruity aroma of Saaz-hops and yes indeed - wet sponge. Somewhat watery flavour but still oily with a great deal of hops, then ending with a moderate bitterness.
