COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular.
Benskins brewery in Watford commenced brewing in the 18th century and was taken over by Ind Coope, which eventually became part of Carlsberg UK, in 1957. The brewery was closed in 1972 but brewing of Benskins branded beers continued at various locations, ending up at the Carlsberg-Tetley brewery in Leeds. Production finally ceased in about 2002.

Cask-Conditioned. Light brown colour, sour flavour. In previous years Benskins was a large local brewery, Benskins Bitter developed a reputation locally of being unpleasantly sour. Now the beer is brewed hundreds of miles away, but it still retains the sour flavour.
