An unexpected visual bend to an American IPA. This style is one that stands out in a crowd, or if you’re more like us - enjoyed at a campsite, with no crowd.

Pours a slightly hazy orange color, thin white head. Aromas are citrus forward, tons of orange and a bit of pine. Taste is a bit more pine than the aroma, some lemon/lime flavor, and a dry, bitter, malty finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Super clean, golden blonde appearance. White tea, grapefruit rind, caramel aroma; classic crystal aroma but in a quieted, mineral washed presentation.

Peppercorns and major herbs in the flavor. Marjoram, thyme, basil, greenery. Fragrant, earthy. The replacement of needles, florals, and citrus with these qualities is fun and interesting.

Crisp, bouncy palate has a bit of oiliness, presumably a left over crystal contribution, not too pushy. Clean mineral finish. Delicate, engaging example.

On tap at Tycoon’s. Fresh pine and grapefruit aroma with zesty lemon and light caramel. Slightly hazy copper under a lasting, white sheet. Caramelly hop juice flavour with sweet pine and gentle grapefruit. Perfect balance for my taste: not overly bitter. Medium body, medium carbonation, very slight bitter finish.

On tap at Pizza Luce in Duluth. Light yellow pour. Hop flavor is mostly citrus. This is a lighter IPA, but it’s very crisp and refreshing. Unique.

Tap at Carmody in duluth. Gold with small white head in pint glass. Smells of some grapefruit and pine. Slightly resin, sharp pine hop bite. Strong bitterness, doesn’t quite have the rest to balance. Not bad.

Sampled at the taproom. Enjoyed it so much, I decided to buy a six pack of cans. Pours a bright golden yellow with a white head. Absolutely smooth and delicious citrus flavor. Will certainly buy again!

12 oz can, thanks Johannes & Willie! Copper color. Aromas of honey, floral & perfumed hops. Softly bitter taste with floral and piney hops. Fairly light body with good drinkability. Fairly delicate IPA in modern standards, which is a good thing.

Nice hops, pine smell similar to Surly Furious but less bitter. Smooth IPA, but big flavor.

Pours a pale straw-orange color. Light aroma of bubblegum and tropical fruit mixed with grassy hops. Tastes lightly sweet and very smooth with a medium bitter-dry finish. Flavors of orange, lemon zest, honey, and bitter hops. Nice beer. Love that it’s in cans!

Tap at Happy Gnome. Golden yellow with no head or.lacing. Lemons, grass, and ritz crackers. Taste is lightly sweet with a medium bitterness, quickly fading. Watery body with light carbonation.

This is one of my favorite beers! It’s got a strong hop flavor, but finishes clean. Bent Paddle touts their use of filtered Lake Superior water, and you can really taste the difference between this and other beers whose process is not as clean and whose sources are less pure. Just . . . love this beer.
