COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed to a smooth, chocolatey, semi-roasted ale that bridges the islands of porter and stout. And if you aren’t a fan of bridges, there’s always the canoe.

Pours a deep black with no real head, though that head would be beige. Toasty roasty burnt aroma with some coffee and a bit of caramel. Taste is surprisingly citrusy. Toast and coffee flavors dominate the mid game with just a touch of sweetness. Kind of watery, though you could call it juicy thanks to the citrus notes. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

My favorite Bent Paddle beer. Easy to drink dark beer and interesting flavors. A little chocolate malty taste. Will continue to get in Minnesota.

12 oz can purchased at France 44 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The pour is a slightly hazed brown copper black with a well formed 1 inch head. Nice retention on the head. The aroma is char roast along with a bit of vanilla. The taste is a pleasant blend of the char roast and soft sweet malt. Nut and pine come out as the beer warms. Simple, clean and nice. The palate is medium to light bodied with active soft carbonation and a char dry mineral finish. Tasty, glad I grabbed a six pack.

Can poured a clear dark reddish brown with a lingering ring of tan foam. Aromas of smoke, roasted malt, coffee and light bakers cocoa. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of roastiness, smoke and light bakers cocoa with a crisp lingering roasty finish.

Tap at Happy Gnome. Reddish black with no head or lacing. Smoked malts, coffee, black tea, and dried leaves. Taste is mostly dry with a smokiness that lingers. Watery feel with light carbonation.

can thanks to CLevar. Aroma of dark, rich chocolate and coffee. Behind that there is some cocoa powder and biscuit, bready character. Pours pitch black into a snifter with a light brown head that laces well. Taste is initially a little roasty, almost burnt, and dark bitter coffee. Flavor leans a lot more toward a stout than the nose would indicate. Fairly drying finish. overall a very nice stout.

On tap at Grumpy’s NE pours a dark brown/black with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malts and chocolate. Taste of roasted malts, chocolate, slight piney bitter hops with a slick palate. I’d say this swings more to the side of decent porter.

Poured from a can into english pint glass. Medium tan head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee and hints of pine and grass. I really like this beer even though it is a bit thinner than most stouts.

Pour on tap at Town Hall tap, dark brownish black pour with off white lacing head, aroma brought notes of dark cocoa, roast, some caramel, grass, pine, hints of orange peel. Taste its a mix of dark chocolate, orange, pine into some spice, slight roast, coffee, finishing bitter, dry. Pretty nice.
