COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The first in our 2014 seasonal trail series. A Belgian style Blonde Ale perfect for an adventure amidst the lakes and trails of the backcountry. This Blonde balances hints of citrus and Belgian yeast much like you balance a canoe on your shoulders. Effortlessly.

Pours clear yellow. White head, simple, easy to drink and refreshing. Nice summer beer.

Clear dandelion pour. Brown banana, browned apple, light mineral and honey aroma, with very faint touches of tropical fruit and resin. The ubiquitous bubble gum clove of generic Belgian yeast strains is certainly there too.

The overall blandly sweet flavor is a pretty untidy thing. In my opinion it is striving for Belgian pale ale flavor moreso than reimagined American blonde, but it lands more in the latter category, making for an awkward identity problem here. Notes include husky grain, adhesive, lavender, apple, and surprisingly, alcohol.

The palate is weirdly heavy. The rotten fruit notes tend to carry through. Whichever style this is meant to represent, it doesn’t fit.

Overall this is a good, simple, refreshing summer beer. I prefer the Belgian yeast fruitiness anyday over some of the lemon-tainted summer beers out there. Not bad at all.

UPDATED: JUN 19, 2014 Very good summer beer. I really like Belgian style beers and it is a great local option from a Minnesota brewer. Good smell, big flavor and easy to drink. Got a six pack of cans for $10 and worth it for a quality beer.

Can into a tulip. Aroma is belgian yeast and a bit of citrus. Bright pale colored pour with medium white head. Great summery belgian ale!

Tap at Happy Gnome. Crystal clear yellow to golden pour with a small white head. Grain and Belgian yeast. Simple, clean, and a solid summer beer.
