drywallman (210), Lake in the Hills, Illinois, USA Jan 18, 2005 A good solid pale ale, with long lasting head, good carbonation, a smooth moderate lasting malt phase, followed by a moderate to high hop phase and bite. A good session pale.
acrdz (4535), Boulder, Colorado, USA Dec 31, 2007 Slightly hazy amber orange color. Fresh, oily and wet hops, lightly floral and piney with some sweet orange notes as well from a slight presence of some caramel malt. Essentially the same thing as SNPA. Cornfield (4469), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Dec 28, 2006 Nice looking, pouring a pale amber body with a frothy white head that does sheet lacing as you drink. It smells of caramel with a touch of toffee covered with tart oranges and tangerines. Very nicely balanced APA, the light citric bitterness matching the sweet malt evenly. Good sessionable material here.

Bent River Brewing Company, Moline, IL
jpm30 (1588), East Central, Georgia, USA May 5, 2006 From the tap, served in your standard bar pint glass. Made a good appearance, poured a clear golden hued amber with a foamy beige/off-white head that settled into a thin lacing, good carbonation. Had a big fresh hop nose, spicy, gorse and slightly herbal with a sweet pale maltiness. A crisp, hop textured and smooth light-ish medium bodied mouth feel, good drinkability. Spicy gorse hoppiness, mild, but rolling on the tongue bitterness, a fighting to balance sweet maltiness and a dry tea and gorse flavors lingering in the palate finish.
Could be the best brew offered at Bent River, the dry-hopped pale ale is good too, well worth trying.
