drywallman (210), Lake in the Hills, Illinois, USA Jun 1, 2004 I’m not real familiar with the style, although I’ve had some other examples. It had moderate but not big malt taste as I would have expected. Hops were grassy and went down well. Head on this one was pretty good. Another one from Bent River that I recommend.
DrnkMcDermott (1617), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA Nov 6, 2004 Darft, at Bent River. Pours a nice golden pils color with a good lacy head. A very well turned pilsener malt character, slightly chewy, maybe even a touch of Vienna malt. Taste is very much like a fresh DAB, well-replicated Dortmund hard water component. Absolutely right on style with no distractions. Sledge Jr (2730), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Sep 6, 2004 On tap at the brewpub. Too light in color, although it is a deep golden color. Odd head with speckled bubbles. The lager yeast they use frames the malt taste of this well. In the middle of the palate is a metal and almost salami-like (?) flavor. Real good finishing hops.
