3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 richlikebeer (838) - Easton, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 26, 2005
hand bottle provided by Duane, pours a cloudy orange color with just a little ring of white foam around the inside edge of the glass. huge pine hop aroma, with hints of orange peel. slight malt beginning followed by a ton of pine hops and nuts, then just enough caramel malts to offset the bitterness but still leave the pine behind. the tail is interesting, with the pine holding control, but some orange tones floating around the edges of the taste. a slick and oily mouthfeel ends an interesting brew, with a unique flavor and finish.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Pailhead (3859) - Plymouth, Michigan, USA - JUL 17, 2005
Hand Bottled: Courtesy of Duane via trade. Bready and light pine aroma is somewhat weak. Pours a transparent orange with an insignificant white head that quickly becomes a soapy looking ring. Real light malt up front with a great pine hop finish. Very light caramel becomes noticeable as t warms. Aroma hurts the score a little, but obviousy it could have lost a little in the hand bottling process. Still a nice APA.

Ruddy orange with a thin head and a POW of a hop aroma. This has a stoic hoppy basis and a nice fruity twist. Well done.

on tap. last beer of the night on my latest visit to Bent River. a cloudy pale yellow with strong hop aroma. even though I am not a hop head I found this to be a very nice beer with that dry hoppy, bitter finish that leaves you wanting more. to bad more people have not rated this one!
3.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 Dansting (222) - Overland Park, Kansas, USA - DEC 30, 2004
Growler. Nice head and cloudy. Similar appearance to most pale ales. Nice strong aroma. Flavor was a little disappointing considering how pleasant the aroma was. Not nearly as flavorful and hoppy as I expected (considering the previous reviews). Not horrible by any means, but not one of the better pale ales that I’ve had.

On tap at the brewpub. Looks like the regular pale ale. Aroma of that Acme anvil that coyote is always trying to drop on the Roadrunner. Outstanding cascade hop usage. In fact, wreckless cascade hop application. There’s so many hops here that I think we could sterilize wounds with this stuff. You actually get thirsty after drinking this, it is so bitterly dry. Don’t start with this one when you visit here, but certainly don’t miss it.

Holy Hops Batman ! Wow this is something to savor if you are a hop head. Full of citrusy cascade bitterness and aroma. Cloudy due to protien suspension from dry hopping. Nice IPA and when I finished my glass I was ready to place my order for another. Warning this is not for the weak of hop heart, only hop heads need apply...
