20100608 Tap at brewpub. Soft bodied, laid back c-hop aroma and lasting mild hop bitterness. Nothing extraordinarily hoppy about this one that would make you think they put any emphasis on the dry hopping, but it’s a fine APA.

Full pint of this beer at the brewpub. Poured a slightly hazy, but mostly clear copper color with a medium sized lasting white head. Aroma was hoppy, but not overtly hoppy. This was pretty enjoyable. Touch of citrus notes, malt balance.

hand bottle provided by Duane, pours a cloudy orange color with just a little ring of white foam around the inside edge of the glass. huge pine hop aroma, with hints of orange peel. slight malt beginning followed by a ton of pine hops and nuts, then just enough caramel malts to offset the bitterness but still leave the pine behind. the tail is interesting, with the pine holding control, but some orange tones floating around the edges of the taste. a slick and oily mouthfeel ends an interesting brew, with a unique flavor and finish.

On tap.
Pours a hazy orange-gold with not much head to speak of. Bits of lace cling to the sides of the glass. Solid cascadey-flowery-citrusy aroma. Flavor starts with a solid wall of hop bitterness that gives way just enough to allow some floral tones and maybe a hint of malt. Fairly solid palate with a long lingering hop bitter aftertase.. A hophead beer; not as well-balanced as I would have liked.

UPDATED: NOV 24, 2012 Growler pour to a Samual Smith pub tulip glass.Very murky dark orange/light brown, small head to a ring of foam with some lacing. Pretty good aroma of resiny floral, grapefruit citrus some herbal/spice,peppermint,dank nice hop aroma. Flavor is intensly hoppy with some malt sweetness,a good amount of spicyness, but hop flavor is everything in this, carbonation is low which is a little disapointing also there is some flatness in the body of this.It seems full bodied but thin and flat at the same time There is a nice mentholish bittering to this kinda peppermint or wintergreen like with a solid pronounced on going and smoothly fading bittering, almost grapefruit but grassy and herbal spicy making it seem wintergreen or peppermint like. Mouthfeel is chaulky almost gritty probably something to do with its murkyness. There is some creamyness ,sweetness, and body ,finish has some toasted malt citrus dryness balanced pretty well with the sweetness. This may be the most hop flavored beer ive ever had, dont know if because i got it local at the brewery ,but i guess the description of heavy really means heavy.I believe i read this to be 5.99% at the brewery. I think this beer really is ipa territory. I almost feel nausious from the hop flavoring of this going on 2 pints. I almost feel like they hop injected this growler because 2 pints of this hopheaven is making me feel stoned! Bought again at the Rock Island Brewery coffee drive through. Again it poured undercarbed with no head. This seems like it would be great with more carbonation, maybe I need to get a fresh pint, instead of the to-go stuff. Its still a super juicy-fruity aroma and tasting pale, but only other complaint is a stalish/flat taste to it.Seamed toned down some on the murkyness and super-duper-hop flavor it had before.

Pours a hazy golden color with a small head and not a lot of lace to speak of on the glass.

The aroma is fairly mild, at first it’s got sort of a dirty water character but that thankfully fades leaving a clean maltiness and a little bit of citrus.

The flavor has a great toasty malt character, is mildly sweet but has a good deal of fruit forward hoppiness. It’s straightforward but works really nicely,

Had it on tap at Bent Brewery in Moline IL. Poured a clear amber hue with minimal head and slight aroma and a bitter hop taste.

On draft at the brewery in Rock Island IL. Pours a clear copper with an off white head. Mild fruity hop nose. Flavors of grass and mild citrus. Light to medium bodied. Light bitter finish.

Amber in color with a small white head. Very fruity aroma, loads of apricots and red plums, but rather lacking in the pine/spruciness that I’d come to expect from an IPA - (the aroma was very similar to that of the American Wheat that my wife had. She mistakenly took a sip of my IPA and remarked with a "Hell no!" that she had picked up my beer.) Crisp, slightly buttery flavor (diacetyl?) with a touch of pine and caramel. Rye, grainy finish. A good beer, but rather lacking for an IPA.

Hazy gold with a little white head. Grapefruit and peach aroma is very floral and quite mouth-watering. Peach and apricot flavors are very prevalent, lending a nice fruitiness to the sweet flavor. Dry finish. Very refreshing, not as resiny or sticky as so many other hopped-up ales.
