12 oz. bottle poured to a dimpled goblet at a friend’s party, showing a clear & bright, medium gold color, with a decent layer of soft white head foam, and equally presentable lacing. The nose was lightly herb & spice, with subtle pepper notes. Light bodied, but lively carbonation uplifted the texture, as a touch of fruit sweetness mellowed the already tame, peppery astringency, which came off a little artificial & soapy. Fairly sessionable otherwise.

On tap at Bent River Rock Island. Spicy peppery aroma comes through into the flavor but is lightly offset by a sweet fruitiness. Pretty smooth and easy to drink with a lingering spicy finish.

Copper pour with a beige head. Aroma is pepper. Taste is a light malt base with peppers. The heat was not as bad as I thought it would be. The second sip added more heat. Not to bad. Would be good with Tex Mex food.

Pour on tap at Radio Maria, hazy golden pour with white head, aroma brought notes of white fruit, pepper, bread, grass, some yeasty notes, touch of orange peel, some chili notes. Taste is a mix of hot chili pepper, some green vegetal notes with that into a bit of orange, some grass, hints of bread, finishing slightly spicy.

Sampled at esbls. Clearish amber. A ring. A mild pepper nose. This was notboverdone as some are. Definite pepper but it works.

Draft - Roasted sweet and spicy jalapeño. Cloudy gold with a decent white head. Jalapeño flavours with an appropriate amount of heat. Pretty decent for what it is.

Not my favorite. Figured I would give it a try but to me beer and peppers don’t mix. Would not try again.

Bottle poured a clear orange amber with a lasting amber head. Aromas of tortillas and jalapenos. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a warming finish. Flavors of tortillas and jalapenos with a crisp warming lingering jalapeno finish.

Bottle. Copper with medium beige head. Aroma of roasted jalapeno and not much else. Medium body, vegetal jalapeno throughout with a slight spicy warming burn. The jalapeno over powers everything else. Might be better if it were a stout and not a wheat beer.

   AROMA 5/10   APPEARANCE 2/5   TASTE 5/10   PALATE 4/5   OVERALL 9/20
ARH (856) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 16, 2014
On tap, poured into a small sampler glass. The aromas is fried jalapeno poppers. A straw pale color is topped by a light, kinda foamy, kinda thin bubbled head. It has an alright retention with with a very light lace. The taste is a spicy combination of medium sweet and light bitter. It’s a thin texture, light bodied beer with a fuzzy carbonation. It finishes with a nice, spicy sweet jalapeno mouth coating. It lights the palate on fire for a brief spell, but fades. The jalapeno note hangs around in the aftertaste for a bit, but cleans up nicely.
