2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Dark colored with a little head. It has a sweet peppery smell with the pepper winning. The taste was peppery also but, not jalapeno, more like a black pepper. It was not as strong of a pepper taste and that took away from the taste.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pours a clear copper. I do not care for these pepper beers at all. Spicy, lacks anything else.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Nearly clear copper pour with a 3 finger, chunky beige head that has great retention and leaves pretty nice lacing. Aroma is loaded with earthy dried jalapenos (earthy enough I would think there could be some anchos in here), toast, chalky mineral notes and old grain. Flavor is very earthy up front with a light, old barn wood/cardboard sort of woodiness/oxidization, dried jalapenos, biscuit, some spicy and citrus hops and toasty malt. Light to medium body with a very active carbonation slightly goopy feel and pleasant capsaicin heat. Pretty good overall,.

1.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Draft sampled at a tasting event. From notes. Super hot jalapeno with a little green pepper and random adjunct grains. Meh, not really my thing.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle. 4.81%. From Iowa. Thanks John M!
Copper colour with a tiny white head.
Peppers, some spiciness and malt in the aroma.
The flavour is spicy jalapeños, dry hops and malt... the hot peppers kick in pretty soon. Warms... maybe burns a bit. Well... this is supposed to be Jalapeño Pepper Ale... and that’s what it is.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle @ work. Lazy amber pour with a small off white head. Grain and jalapeno aroma. Same for flavor. Not as much meat or sweetness as I’d like for a jalapeno beer, and it was a bit thin. Lightly spicy.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
on tap-thin white-gold. A-jalapeno&green pepper, some grain. T- jalapeno&green pepper, some grain, then a fizzy mouthfeel that becomes a slight burn (even on small sips).

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
4oz sampler at the Bent River brewpub. I can tell most people here right away - you will *not* like this beer. Don’t get this expecting to enjoy it, don’t get it thinking you will like it. You simply won’t. With that said... I loved it. It was great (in relative terms). Aroma is pickled jalapeño with some pale malt character. Flavor is jalapeño spice. Plenty of heat. I would never suggest this as anything more than having a few sips of, perhaps a sample size. I’d personally think that if I head back there, I’ll be getting a full pint. Perhaps I like to punish myself.
