3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma - pepper like heat, caramel, and chocolate.
Appearance - the body is black. Head is a light brown and 1 1/4", and rings out.
Taste - has a caramel quality similar to a Caramelo. There is a very small amount of roast, some chocolate, a hint of spice (cinnamon and heat ~ hot pepper-like), and pecan.
Palate - medium body, suave texture, soft carbonation, and slight peppery heat.

Poured chocolate-like into my glass with a light brownish head that lasted for a good long time. Malt had the expected caramel, chocolate, nutty, coffee (without the burnt and acidity components) flavors. Hops were appropriately not noticeable, other than giving a slight herbal component. Body was not as thick or heavy as one would expect. I thought that was a good thing. I could easily go through two of these compared to other stouts.

UPDATED: NOV 18, 2015 Perfect perfect aroma. Missing on mouth feel. Flavor Carmel and coffee. Pretty amazing it is like candy good beer. Mouthfeel is still solid. It isn’t far from being a near perfect beer. Good on all counts. Nice thin lasting head also. Good job guys... one of the best of IOWA.

deep brown color, light brown creamy head. aroma is primarily coffee, little bit of cocoa. bottle reads that cinnamon, pecan, caramel, vanilla and rum are added to this beer. pecan and caramel are noticeable, but the other ingredients my nose doesn’t pick up. flavor is similar, coffee, cocoa with pecan and caramel present as well. expected this to be a much thicker beer. really surprised at how thin it is. not necessarily a bad thing.

Pour is a black with a small tan head. Aroma is a big caramel nose with a little coffee in there. Reminds me of snickerdoodle coffee. Flavor is more of the caramel with a minor coffee. Thin mouth feel but its way sweet. Even with the sweetness this is pretty tasty I just wish this had a bigger and heavier malt presence.

Smells like Carmel and sweet candy. Bottle pour from my bro. Super foamy. Taste is also sweet and flavorful of toffee and nutty chocolate happiness. A little too much going on for me but it is enjoyable.

Great full taste! Similar to the Founders Breakfast Stout but with some added jingle. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys coffee chocolate and maple syrup! If you are a stout fan then I highly recommend you try it!

Perfectly black pour from the bottle. A thin medium khaki head floats around in bits. I am confused by the smell. It is strong butterscotch but almost overwhelmed by coffee and rum. Cheap coffee mixed with watered down cola and cheap coffee is the primary taste. Hints of wood come through on the back end. It is OK, but almost too much.
