On tap at the brewery, pours black with a nice tan head, the aroma is of straight fresh coffee, really over takes everything, the flavor has a ton of coffee on the front end with a slight chocolate finish, good stuff, but if you order this make sure you freaking love coffee.

Tap at Bent River on Nov. 26, 2011. Deep mahogany pour with a small white head. Huge nose of coffee and Christmas spices. Medium to thin palate. Taste is coffee and spices also. Awesome.

Had a few glasses from a growler brought by rooftoprogue. Pours dark brown with tan head. Aromas of coffee, caramel, chocolate and some roasted malts. Flavor of sweet and sugary coffee, roasted malts, and bit of chocolate. Has a nice sweet coffee finish to it.m Pretty good coffee stout.

On draft at Old Chicago in Bettendorf Iowa. Pour was dark black and had a pleasant mild coffee aroma. Flavor was excellent, very smooth mouthfeel with well balanced coffee flavor with a hint of chocolate and vanilla. An extremely close second to my favorite, Surly coffee bender.

On tap at el bait shop. This is one of the better coffee stouts I have had. This has a nose of chocolate, and a bit of spice. But the flavor is initially like drinking an iced mocha, it turns a little towards the malty roasty side and ends creamy. Just a bit sugary, but overwhelmingly very good!

Pint at the brewery. Very strong coffee nose, candy-like and sweet with a definite chocolate syrup note. Robust and heavy on the tongue, with sugary mocha and chocolate throughout. Reminds me of donuts. Awesome.

tap at the brewpub on $2 Tuesday. black pour with a short-lived tan head leaving some spotty lace. aroma is predominately coffee. flavor is more coffee, but with some chocolate, toffee and spicy hops. lively mouthfeel due to the carbonation and spice. an interesting holiday version of their Uncommon "high octane coffee" Stout.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 GeneralGao (3614) - Iowa City, Iowa, USA - DEC 6, 2006
Draught at the brew pub. Described to me as a holiday version of the uncommon stout. Opaque black with a quickly disappearing tan head that left only a tiny bit of lace on the glass. Attractive aroma of chocolate brownies and coffee. Tastes of caramel, toffee, chocolate, and coffee with a buttery finish. Delicious.
