Draft - Molasses, oatmeal and lots of toast. Deep maroon with almost no head. Sweet dark fruit, raisin and a sweet finish. Fruity and almost too sweet, but interesting.

bottle, another thanks to Cheap...great call. Black pour, 1 inch brown head. An oatmeal stout that was not rude or assertive. Well balanced, chocolate malt notes with a subtle oatmeal flavor. Medium body, nice slight bite from a stout.

On tap, poured into a shaker. Oatmeal chocolate chip and raisin cookies are what this beer smells like. It has the appearance of a watery, dark brown-black liquid. It doesn’t leave any lace and retains a light ring of head. The beer is a combination of medium / medium-high sweetness with a light bitterness. The beer has a watery texture without too much carbonation - it’s kinda flat, but does had a very light, soft carbonation. The medium, malty body finishes with a sweet chocolate and raisin crescendo, and a touch of cola. The aftertaste is short lived, but has a fresh baked cookie quality.

On draft at the brewery in Rock Island IL. Pours a clear dark cola with an off white head. Nutty aroma. Flavors of charred wood with some chocolate and coffee notes. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, bitter roasted finish.

4oz sampler at the Bent River brewpub. Poured a close-to-black color with a small tan head. Aroma had plenty of chocolate malts, with some grain and oat characters, some cereal. Flavor was nice and chocolate, with oat-grain notes. This was pretty enjoyable. I enjoyed the palate a bit more with this one over the Uncommon Stout.

Dark brown with a tan head. A fathers day gift from my son. Nice Malty aroma with chocolate, some coffee and roast Malts. The flavor was similar, slightly sweet and easy drinking. A bit thin but still quite good.

On tap at Bent River in Moline. I though this was pretty basic overall (though I often do with oatmeal stouts), but with a nice creamy base and high drinkability. Came poured with a thin, wispy tan head, and medium to light appearance stout wise. Aroma has some good dark cocoa malts, cereal grains, and earth. Also, some hazy mocha in the nose as well. The body is light, yet rich, creamy, with a prominent candy malt. To describe the flavors: a good amount of cereal grains, minor roast, light sweet berries, candy fruit, earth, and some non-distinct hop. More balance and subtleties come out as it warms. Still, this impressed me as being too straight forward, with things not coming together perfectly. Not bad though.

Draft sample. Poured a black color with a medium off-white creamy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Medium toasted chocolate malt aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy roasted sweet malt flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of average duration. Solid drinkable brew.
