2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle at home. Poured copper, much darker than most pale ales. Mild aroma of ceareal and bread. Slightly malty, slightly hoppy. Looks like an amber, tastes like a pale ale. Boring.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Copper color with an off-white head. Metallic aroma. Some malt on the palate but also has a metallic taste as well. Hopefully this was a bad batch and not how they intended it to taste.

2.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Sub-par ale with a pleasant hop aroma but flawed tongue and palate. Sour rather than bitter, somewhat watery, and with an unpleasant foaminess in the mouth.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at the brewpub. Old notes from June. I was surprised I hadnít rated this already. Light amber pour with a small khaki head that sticks and laces mildly. Plain aroma, not offensive, some sweet toffee notes, citrus, a bit of a grape kick. Sweeter pale flavor, caramel malts poking through a touch strong for me, citrus hops, doughy. Not bad.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft - Caramel and some earthy hops. Clear copper with a decent white head. Earthy hops, light grains and a dry finish. Light bitterness throughout. Decent, but more English.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
bottle @ Johnís Grocery / Iowa City IA --- Slightly hazy dark amber, good bubbly off-white head that slowly drops to a full cover, thin streaks of lace. Taste is a combination of malt and hops that are not in sync with each other. Each on its own is agreeable, but together, they are in conflict. Carbonation plays a big role in the quick to dissipate finish. Only fair.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap and poured into an imperial pint-style sample glass. The aromas are fairly muted, but the notes that are present are a light citrus, grain, some floral, and a light toasted caramel. Itís a clear amber beer with a white, tight bubbled head with a moderate retention and lacing. Itís a medium sweet with a light bitterness. The medium malty body has a slick texture and mildly active carbonation. It has more qualities of an amber beer than an APA - it finishes with toasted caramel and cola. Thereís a bit of nuttiness and the aftertaste is a touch floral.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at the Rock Island Bent River location. Poured a mostly clear orange color with a small white head. Aroma was light hop notes - a touch of grapefruit and citrus, some light sweet malt. Nice light floral hops, some good balanced malt character. Sweet, but pretty well balanced. Easy to drink.
