Date: July 26, 2011 Mode: Draft Source: Bent River Brewpub, Moline, IL Appearance: Semi-opaque orange with almost no head. Aroma: Sweet and raspberry. Flavor: Consistent with aroma, thin bodied, flat and a dry finish. Other: I like raspberry and wheat beers, but this one didn’t do much for me.

On tap at brewery, pours a light hazy orange with a thin head, the aroma is was sweet with nothing much else, the flavor was light and fruity but very forgettable, pass on this one.

Pours a lightly hazy, light brown with a small, off white head. Aroma is raspberry, wheat and planty notes. Flavor is seedy raspberries, lemon grass, wheat and grainy bread. Thin and somewhat dry on the palate. Not really a big fan of this, very much a wheat ale.

20100608 Tap at brewpub. Lightly wheaty aroma, not much berry. Flavor is sweet, almost sickeningly so, and filled with fruit. Comes across as fairly artificial (though the menu denies that) and toting a heavy dose of Meh. They must have added extra sugar to this one. Must have.

hazy orange pour. Very fruity aroma. Some sweetened flavors. Raspberry for sure. Flavor matches the nose. Fruity taste. Finishes dry and immediately bitter.

Tap. Light orange pour with pink hues. Aroma and taste of wheat, berry, and spice. Very refreshing and flavorful - I enjoyed this.

Beer #29 at GTMW, 8-8-09! Slightly pinkish in the glass, overlaying a cloudy yellow, thin head. Some raspberry smell, not overly done. However, raspberries get a little cloying in the taste, so I had to ding it a little bit. Everything else about it makes for a fine, refreshing fruit beer.

I’ve had this on tap many times and am never really impressed. The batch can vary a bit, as can the freshness of the keg. Sometimes the raspberry is barely even perceptible and sometimes the beer is overly sweet like it’s under attenuated or full of lactose.

Refreshing, but I don’t really like fruit beers. Most all of Bent River’s beers pour wonderfully and present very well, so high marks for appearance.

Hazy straw body with a fluffy white head. This actually has a soft, fresh fruit aroma. The raspberries blend nicely with the wheat and the drink ends in a light sweet-sour note. Better suited for hot weather, although it was unseasonably warm today.
