My wife ordered one of these, so I just had to try it as well. It actually was much better than expected, and blew away some of the other beers that I tried during my most recent visit. Very hazy, light-orange with no head. Light strawberry aroma, leading me to believe that this was indeed made with real strawberries, not flavoring or concentrate. Moderately sweet, mildly sour flavor, with a certain bitterness similar to strawberry seeds. Fruity, sweet finish. A very refreshing summertime beer.

On tap. Clear slightly pink pour with a ring of carbonation and a slightly sweet fresh strawberry aroma. Flavor is light creamy strawberries, slick mouthfeel and lingering sweetness. Have had this before, but this glass was a lot better than I remember. Very refreshing.

Tap pours golden with a white head. Aroma is sweet malt and light strawberry. Flavor is sweet, grainy malt, with some light strwaberry. My least favorite of the beers I tried

Have had on tap at the brewpub at the brewpub a couple of times... one of my least favorite beers that they offer... too sweet, not much strawberry.

On tap at Bent River brewpub. Hazy yellow with a thin white head. Aroma of wheat, yeast and strawberry. Taste of candied strawberry that leaves a bad aftertaste. Lively carbonation feel and kind of cloying.

Draft at Bent River. Hazy golden honey colored body. Light honey and fruit sweetness up front, but transparent and generic "fruit" is all that it suggests... over time there’s some sort of berry flavor that develops, but it could be strawberry as much as it could be blueberry as much as it could be benzaldehyde. Bland, nearly flavorless finish. Just basically "blah".

This looked fine, an orange/gold body with a full head that laced the glass nicely, but the aroma was a strong, overly sweet candy-fruit smell. They may indeed have used the real fruit as claimed, but the flavor was like crummy candy, too.

On tap at the brewpub. Light hazy orange color. Aroma was slightly sweet but not much going on. Tasted the same way: very carbonated, somewhat sweet, but where’s the strawberry flavor? It just wasn’t there for me. Others have rated this much higher and had better things to say about it which leads me to believe that batch to batch consistency is a problem at Bent River.

On tap @ The Bent River Brewpub. Pours a clear golden reddish color. Aromas of mild berries, grains, and a touch of hops. Flavor is a nice balance of soft fruit flavor with malts and a crisp dry finish. I’m not big on fruit beers, but this one has a subdued flavor, not over the top.

UPDATED: FEB 20, 2006 Draught at the brewpub. Hazy orange-pink color. Looked a bit like orange soda. Sweet with strong strawberry nose and flavor. Average fruit beer.

On tap at the brewpub. A light yellow body with a thin white head. This smelled sweet with strawberries and hay. There is also some apple character. The taste was tart with strawberries and some sweet caramel in the finish. Seems like a great summer beer.
