DalzAle (83), Eden Prairie, Minnesota, USA Jan 2, 2009 Growler from the brewpub. Poured dark black with medium carbonation. Aroma was coffee and malt. Flavor was great, strong coffee and a not much else. A solid coffee beer that you should not miss if you ever make it to Moline. TheBeerOrg (1416), Kentucky, USA Apr 11, 2008 Pours near black with a fully receding mocha head. Aroma of coffee, roast malt, dark chocolate. Tastes of coffee and roast. Full bodied with lively carbonation. Potentially the most roasty coffeeish stout I’ve had yet. A bit too much roast for me. pepsican (791), the beer wastelands of, Iowa, USA Feb 28, 2008 tap. Pours not quite black, but a very dark ruby, little head. Aroma of coffee and chocolate. Flavor is coffee up front, with dark fruit. Grain alcohol comes in when it warms, kind of unpleasant. Finishes slightly bitter and smooth. A bit watery. Decent. acrdz (4535), Boulder, Colorado, USA Dec 31, 2007 Nose has a little bit of black cherry, coffee and dark chocolate, with some plum-like dark fruit notes, with faint amounts of roast. Robust, heavy, lightly sweet with coffee and cream and chocolate notes all over this beer throughout the drink. A decadent and unique dessert beer that doesn’t get carried away with the sweetness. Very good. truebluehes (102), Tipton, Iowa, USA Dec 29, 2007 Draft. Dark brew. Aroma is of intense freshly ground coffee. Flavor is a nice roasty malt with more coffee. Nice sweet finish. Great beer.
