chris_baar (10), Dixon, Illinois, USA Dec 14, 2007 On draft at Patrick’s in Clinton, IA and brewery in Moline. This stout is poured without nitrogen and has a medium head that dissipates quickly but doesn’t ruin the flavor. The body itself is overall black with dark brown tones. The aroma is of coffee and roasted barley and a hint of vanilla. The taste is of those very same flavor compounds, but is surprisingly well balanced for a coffee stout and isn’t completely dominated by either one. This beer may not only be one of my favorites from Bent River, but one of my favorite beers of all time avalancher34 (35), Moline, Illinois, USA Nov 21, 2005 By far my favorite beer at the Bent River, if anywhere! This beauty has it all! Deep, rich, espresso and caramel flavors compliment the strong and serious aroma it gives off. Although it does stay on your palate for a while, the floavor and coating is well worth it! If you are ever in the Quad Cities, it would be a sin not to stop and try this great stout beer! I am in bliss just thinking about it! JMerritt (1106), Macomb, Illinois, USA Nov 24, 2003 Jet black, medium off-white head this is moderately diminishing. HUGE roasted coffee aroma and flavor, unlike any I've ever experienced. Very creamy texture. Closest thing to carbonated coffee I've ever tried. Coffee haters, avoid this like the plague. Otherwise, get yourself to Moline Illinois to experience this first hand. rlinccpa (1), Moline, Illinois, USA does not count Jan 15, 2005 My favorite beer. It does have caffeine, but if your a coffee drinker it will not keep you up the caffiene is not that strong.
truebluehes (101), Waukon, Iowa, USA Dec 29, 2007 Draft. Dark brew. Aroma is of intense freshly ground coffee. Flavor is a nice roasty malt with more coffee. Nice sweet finish. Great beer.
