3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
Nearly black with a short tan head.
Coffee, fudge aroma.
Carbonated, dark roast coffee flavour.
Solidly done...not complex, just a very straightforward coffee stout.

The beer is average. It is too bitter for me. Possibly the barley is the reason I think it is just okay.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle in Breckenridge with my Dad. Pour is deep brown with a small tan head and good lacing. Huge over roasted coffee, somewhat buttery, brown sugar, malty, bready, husky and caramelly aroma. Taste is huge coffee, green pepper, weird butterscotch, bread, husky, twangy homebrew. Thin body with high carbonation. Tons of off flavors and way too thin of a body.

Bottle to snifter. bottle fill is very high. Poured with a large light brown head. Aroma is very sharp coffee. Very dark coffee aroma to it. Taste is all coffee, thin bodied, and overly carbonated. Seems like it would be a good beer if not, well, thin and overcarbonated. difficult to drink.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pour from a 12 oz bottle. Nice looking inky black brew with tan head. Aroma is a coffee blast with a few hints of malt. Taste is bitter coffee up front, in the middle and still more bitter coffee at the end, with a little metallic flourish to wrap things up. Average palate verging to the thin side. Interesting but unbalanced - this is more like a foamy cold expresso than a coffee stout.. Maybe I am just not attuned to the style.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Nice coffee and roasted malt aromas and flavor, albeit way too one-sided. Watery texture severely damages the total experience and this ultimately becomes a rather bland affair.

Draft - Lots of roast and coffee bean. Deep mahogany with almost no head. Roast with some coffee. Very light on the palate and surprisingly easy drinking.
