Has all the characteristics of the perfect session ale. This beer is wonderfully balanced with its malty hint of fruit giving way to a delightful lingering bitterness.

Pints and halves, cask gravity, 2nd Bulkington Beer Festival. Tarnished gold with no head. Fresh musky citrus, slight urea, jammy apricot, peach and lychee aroma. All that plus mango, sweet red apple Englishness, walnut, white grape, oats and custard. Big lovely bag of fruit and biscuits basically, balancing out with some serious hop and nuthusk afters. Tip-top crushed biscuit freshness, despite having been cooked in this sweltering armpit of a festival venue for 3 days. Superlative sessions, unafraid of giving you a smack in the mouth.

Cask conditioned at The Old Silk Mill, Derby. Amber with white head. Heady, hoppy fresh tasting beer with a bitterseet edge. Good zesty, slightly spicy notes from the hop on a mid bodied maltiness. Very Pleasant.

A Mes rate. Gravicask at Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival. Golden brown with a thin white head. Decent fruity malt aroma with lots of wholemeal bread. Good fruity hop flavour with with some really good tropical fruit notes. An assertive bitter finish and some very late bready malt rounds ot off well. It’s a boarderline 8 to be honest. Good beer and well made. Maybe I scored it a bit low...

Cask at Cloisters. Pours a golden colour with a fair white head. Musty lemon aroma with some honey and barley. A grassy, herbal flavour with musty honey, peppery hops, lemon again and bready yeast. Quite dry finish. OK.

Cask@Market Porter, Borough. Golden colour, thin white head. Aroma is nectary sweetness, some wooden hints and quite much fruits. Flavour is grass, nectar and some wooden hints. Aftertaste is mainly wooden and quite bitterish.

Cask@26th Burton upon Trent Beer Festival. Amber/Yellow beer with a dry citric aroma and a caramel flavour with a dry finish, overall a lot of toffee to the flavour. The beer is reasonable for a strong tasting bitter.
