Clear medium amber to orange color with a large, frothy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - roasted notes. citrus, light yeasty, leather. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20100119]

My bottle conditioned version had 5.5%ABV, not the 4.7% as stated on here and BA. Anyway the 500ml brown bottle had a best before date of Oct 2011 and was taken late July 2011. The beer is mid-amber with an off-white head of small bubbles. Pale and Crystal malts only, so darker than I thought would be the case. Sadly the beer wasn’t very good, it had a dry almost metalic aftertaste and no foretaste either: a big let down from start to finish. This really was a ’nothing beer’. I found hints of malts and hops, but not enough to comment on.

Cask conditioned handpump Wetherspoons Birmingham. A golden beer with a tight whitish head and lacing. A lemony bitter. Creamy due to the tight sparkler. Light and easy to drink. A subdued aroma but sessionably flavoursome.

500ml bottle, 5.5%. Pours a very hazy orange with a large, frothy head. Aroma is fruity hops and bready malt. Not much to taste to start and then a paracetamol dryness. Very bitter finish and too much carbonation.

Cask at the Three Judges, Glasgow, Scotland on 24th April 2010. Gold with vanishing white head. Cookie malts, citric hop and slight peppery notes. Smooth to light mouthfeel, bittersweet finish leaning on the sweet.

Ungstrup (23918) - Oamaru, NEW ZEALAND - JAN 19, 2010
Bottled. A hazy dark golden beer with a huge orangey head. The aroma has notes of malt, alcohol, and some spices. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, metal, straw, alcohol, and fruits, leading to a dry metallic finish.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a hazy golden with a lively and frothy off-white head. Sweetish toffee aroma. Medium body, lively carbonated, toffee and fruit - once again... No real bitterness. 190110

Bottle. Big head on pouring which took up half the glass. This took time to dissipate. Sharp bitterness with a medium body. A well bottled BCA which is always a bonus. A bit bitter for my taste but still a nice drink.

DruncanVeasey (5138) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - MAY 18, 2009
Bottle conditioned, 5.5% ABV. Dusky orange with a fine persisting white collar and clinging tufts of lace. Juicy dried apricot, apple peel, grass, raisin and plastic aroma. Bramling Cross? Soft and stony with a Sam Smiths-like alkaline lick of slate. Apricot, grass and almond drying into a robust hoppy finish with vanilla and husky malt afters. Quality again from Beowulf.
