Cask gravity @ Reading Beer Festival 2008. Clear medium yellow orange color with a average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is light malty, toasted, light hoppy, citrus. Flavor is light to moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is flat. (030508)
3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 reidyboy (11) - Shrewsbury, Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAR 15, 2012
First beer from this brewery for me, so no preconceptions (except expecting it to be a spring ale!) - appearance was very good, nice tight head on a golden / brown beer; aroma loses points because there was something not identifiable in it, not overly unpleasant but still detracted a little. At the end of the day though, for me it’s all about taste and this hit the spot, perhaps a little under-hopped for my preference but doubtless exactly what the brewer was after. Can imagine downing several of these without any trouble at all
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 dnas2 (705) - Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, ENGLAND - MAY 14, 2008
Cask at The Old Joint Stock, Birmingham. Light straw coloured with a short head. Very hoppy citrus scent. Moderately bitter with a dry finish. Grapefruit and some tea present. Refreshing. Uncomplicated but I liked it.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 MesandSim (7109) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 7, 2008
A Mes rate: Gravicask at Reading Beer Festival. A very pale gold colour. So pale in fact that if someone told me this was a perry I would believe them until I smelled it. Straw and hay and tea (thankfully not so much in the flavour) and a dry bitter finish. Erm... Next.
