Hand pulled at the Old Joint Stock, Birmingham. Bright yellow c/w bubbly white head. Fruit and flowers in the smell. Freshish, quite hoppy. Sweetness leads to the finish of syruppy tartness. Refreshing and medium-light.

Cask, Coventry 2010. Well, it wouldn’t be a BF without some Beowulf. Filmy gold with a thin bubbly head. Green apple acidity and greenery in the aroma, presumably hop-derived. Lean and thick as usual; biting hop with oily nut balance; some bark and twigs, butter even. A bit pedestrian for Beowulf, but full of understated character. I like it.

Cask-conditioned at the Plough, Worcester 30/05/09. Deep gold with a slight white head. A decent hoppy brew, with some citrus fruit, a slightly prickly mouth feel and dry, grapefruit finish. Good stuff.

Cask conditioned at The Old Joint Stock, Birmingham. Gold to copper with white head. This apparently hasn’t been seen for quite a while and now appears to be a tad darker. It comes over as a good hoppy dry bitter now, citrusy and dry. Good stuff.

Cask@Red Lion BF, Isleworth, London. Crisp and dry, with a grainy, slightly lemony flavour, but to be honest, no flavours really stand out, its not very interesting.

Blond, but a bit bland. Not much on the aroma, a touch of citric hop in the flavour. Soft and easy to drink, but a bit short of bite. Acceptable, but unspectacular. Cask (gravity), Red Lion Beer Festival, Isleworth.
