downender (1785), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England Aug 28, 2007 From bottle in a cafe in Talmont-sur-Gironde, France 23/8/07. Amber coloured with a decent off-white head. Sweet malt aroma with a whiff of spirits. Fruity flavour with a warming alcohol finish. Ok. Emil (6077), Copenhagen, Denmark Sep 20, 2006 Bottle. Golden colour with a big tan head. Sweet malty, spicy, light cognac aroma and taste. Medium body with a sweet finish. tiggmtl (4197), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Sep 18, 2006 (Embrasse-Moi): Grainy, sweet, doughy aroma. Clear copper coloured body is topped by a low but lasting cream coloured head that leaves scant lace. Doughy flavour is mildly boozy with a grainy character and some grape and raisin fruitiness. Surprisingly strong bitterness appears in the finish and seems to overshadow the rest of the flavour. Medium body with soft carbonation to match. Sampled at Mondial 2006. joergen (6951), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 17, 2006 Bottle.
Clear golden coloured with a white head.
Aroma of malts, caramel, roasted malts and spices.
Flavour of malts, caramel and spices.
Light hoppy finish. Papsoe (11421), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 16, 2006 (Bottle 33 cl) Pours a clear amber with a small, off-white head leaving a discreet lacework. Exotic, somewhat perfumy aroma. Medium-bodied with rather sophisticated and perfumy notes. Some alcohol in the finish. Not unpleasant as such, but I’m not sure I really need Cognac in my beer. 150906
