COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Launched at Gladmat 2012.

Sample @ Berentsens, Gladmat, Stavanger. Pours light amber, with a light airy head. Aroma is very sweet of tropical fruits, honey and flowers, as well as a nice caramel malt with toffee. Body is full and creamy, with soft carbonation. Flavour is sweet of nice fruity hops with good bitter pine and orange peel, as well as a good lightly burned malt backbone. Nice and long bitter finish with orange peel. Splendid IPA from Berentsens.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet. Deep glowing amber. Flowery aroma and flavour, rather sweet at first, then some bitter hops fill in the blanks. B itter tail, dust, resin.

Two 500ml bottles from Vinmonopolet Hamar. Frothy, near-white head leaving dotted spots at the glass. Clear amber coloured body. Aroma of dark honey with hints of caramel and floral hops, inviting. Rather comprehensive dry, malt-fruity taste profile where notes of resin, pine and bread-like malts work well together. Developing bittersweet ending. Full bodied. Enjoying, original IPA (Ottestad 15.02.2013 and one bottle shared with Leif and Dag Erik in Vikingskipet, Hamar 17.02.2013).

Bottle. It’s a clear one, perhaps with a very minor hazy, amber in color and topped by a firm, off-white head of moderate size. The aroma is a tad weak for an IPA I think, definitely not the typical West Coast IPA. Flowers, some grass, canned fruits syrup and a touch of peaches and banana. It’s rather bitter in the mouth, soft on the palate, with nice carbonation. Medium to full body. Pine cones, some syrupy notes and a flowery touch in the flavor. Mostly bitter finish, with some pine cones and sugary maltyness. A fine beer, indeed, but it’s too careful initially, and I wouldn’t mind more body and balance. 130210

Nice clear caramel golden color with a big frothy tan head that leaves some lacing. A mild fine caramel malty and light hoppy aroma. Round fine mild sweet body with a nice bitterness. Oily texture. Fresh and easy drinkable. Maybee a bit more like an apa. Anyway it does not matter much. A fine caramel malty and light grape hoppy flavor. Nice tasty ale.

500 ml bottle. Clear golden body with a big, lasting creamy off-white head. A bit weak in aroma, mild caramel malt and floral hops. Flavour has light, soft pale malt, fruity and moderate floral and grassy bitterness. Medium body and a decent aftertaste where the bitterness becomes more evident. Not an IPA in my book, more like an American Pale ale.
