Pours a deep amber, brownish color with a caramel colored, thick and creamy head. Mellow and sweet aroma with rich malts, dates and raisins. Creamy on the palate, sweet malty profile with a light bitterness towards and into the aftertaste. A slight alcoholic burn also. Softly carbonated.

Dark dark brown, with a small brown head. Malty caramelly aroma. Taste is sweet, with taste of walnuts, chocolate, caramel and alcohol. I’m impressed. One of the best christmasbeers I’ve had.

Bottle traded with Cunningham. Dark malty aroma with caramel, chocolate, earth, nuts, licorice, prunes, raisins, port wine and alcohol. The flavour is reminiscent of chocolate filled with nuts. Light sweet, light bitter taste, full body, velvety carbonation. Slightly astringent, alcoholic finish, nevertheless very pleasant. A fine Christmas treat.

Bottle at home. Vintage 2011. Has a hazy black colour with a light beige medium head. Aroma of dried fruit and a good dose of roasted malt, along with coffee, oak and dark berries. Nice roast in the flavour as well with more coffee, dried fruit, rye bread and some licorice and barbeque sause. Feels like it has been aged in bourbon barrels. Has a slick and rich mouthfeel, and a light bitterness. A nicely balanced ale with a good roasted touch.
