3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a dark brown, almost black which reveals some red when held to the light. Light brown head that settles a bit quickly.
Aroma of caramel, cocoa powder and a hint of dark fruits. Taste is more of the afore mentioned, with some sweetness balanced towards a pleasant bitter aftertaste.

Dark dark brown, with a small brown head. Malty caramelly aroma. Taste is sweet, with taste of walnuts, chocolate, caramel and alcohol. I’m impressed. One of the best christmasbeers I’ve had.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle traded with Cunningham. Dark malty aroma with caramel, chocolate, earth, nuts, licorice, prunes, raisins, port wine and alcohol. The flavour is reminiscent of chocolate filled with nuts. Light sweet, light bitter taste, full body, velvety carbonation. Slightly astringent, alcoholic finish, nevertheless very pleasant. A fine Christmas treat.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at home. Vintage 2011. Has a hazy black colour with a light beige medium head. Aroma of dried fruit and a good dose of roasted malt, along with coffee, oak and dark berries. Nice roast in the flavour as well with more coffee, dried fruit, rye bread and some licorice and barbeque sause. Feels like it has been aged in bourbon barrels. Has a slick and rich mouthfeel, and a light bitterness. A nicely balanced ale with a good roasted touch.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Underneath a quite large, creamy and light brown head is a dark brown body. The head is long-lived and reduces to a fully lasting layer that laces the glass fairly well. Rather strong aroma with roasted notes, lots of coffee and a light yeasty touch. The taste is pretty standard for a christmas beer, i.e. moderate sweet and moderate bitter. The flavours on the other hand are beyond average, with roasted notes, coffee, chocolate and fruits in the back. The beer is full bodied with a lovely thick oily texture and it has a a marvelous vinous feel. The carbonation is soft. A really nice ale!
