COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Jule-Avec nytes gjerne alene eller som dessert øl. Sødmen gjør at det også passer utmerket til nøtter og småkaker og serveres gjerne i et stort Cognac glass. Serveringstemperatur ca 10 grader Celsius.

This is actually close to perfect! The body, and the combination of bitterness and sweetness is fantastic! Tastes and smells of coffee, chewing gum, licorice, dark fruits and heavy christmas.

0.33l bottle. This is a daark dark deep brown beer with a big massive tan head. Lovely chocolate aroma with notes of coffee, roasted malts, coffee and nuts. The carbonation levels are gentle to average and the mouthfeel on this one can only be described as thick, syrupy and oily. It has lots of flavor! Chocolate, cookies, chocolate ice cream, branches, rum raisins, ends really really drymouthing - or mouthdrying if you prefer, and it ends in a nice warming finish. Really solid!

33 cl bottle at home. This is a beautifully made Old Ale, with aromas and tastes reminiscent of imperial stouts I have tried in the past. Aroma makes me think of nuts and dried fruit, taste brings me even deeper into that territory. It promises to be a Christmas dessert in and of itself, and it delivers. Well played, Berentsen.

Underneath a quite large, creamy and light brown head is a dark brown body. The head is long-lived and reduces to a fully lasting layer that laces the glass fairly well. Rather strong aroma with roasted notes, lots of coffee and a light yeasty touch. The taste is pretty standard for a christmas beer, i.e. moderate sweet and moderate bitter. The flavours on the other hand are beyond average, with roasted notes, coffee, chocolate and fruits in the back. The beer is full bodied with a lovely thick oily texture and it has a a marvelous vinous feel. The carbonation is soft. A really nice ale!
[33 cl bottle, enjoyed 15 months before BB date, from Vinmonopolet Vika, Oslo]

Bottle, 9%. Weak vinous aroma. Very dark brown colour, red shine, seems clear. The flavour is nicely roasted with a good deal of spices and alcohol. Very flavourful, but nicely balanced.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of yngwie. Pours a clear dark brown with a reddish/orangey hue and a rough beige head. The nose has wood and overripe fruit. Solid body, nuts, burned caramel and lots of overripe fruit. Quite some alcohol in the finish. Very delicious - bordering Barley Wine territory. 010910

Rune (6125) - Tromsø, NORWAY - DEC 24, 2009
330ml, dark green bottle. Deep, dark ruby body. Just a tiny ring of off-white bubbles at the top. Decent lacing on the glass. Aroma of chocolate malts with an herbal touch. Roasted, sweet malts added by dark and dried fruits. Notes of prunes and apricot and anise. Bitter dark fruits to the aftertaste in fusion with a solid punch of warming alcohol. Fine Christmas spirit in this one (Tromsø 23.12.2009).
