A little sweetness, then distinct bitterness to the finish. Caramels in the aroma. Light body, I felt this beer had some weaknesses. (33 cl bottle)

garza (570) - Oslo (NO), Caracas (VE), VENEZUELA - AUG 20, 2011
Pours deep black with a brown and frothy head. Malts, some coffee and dark chocolate on the nose. Roasted malts with notes of cocoa in the flavour- Also some sensations of burnt caramel and dry fruits like raisins there. Medium sweetness, lightly bitter. Medium body, creamy, average to soft carbonation and a malty light bitter finish. Quite a surprise. Good one.

larsga (6676) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUL 16, 2011
Medium brown head. Nearly opaque black body goes deep dark red at edges. Roasty burnt coffee aroma with earthy mealy minty notes. Dry-sweetish roasty minty grainy taste with burnt chocolate notes. Mid-bodied. Sharpish mouthfeel. Clean, fresh palate. Dry roasty resiny earthy aftertaste with metallic burnt cold coffee notes. Very nice and drinkable, but perhaps a little austere. (0.33l bottle, Centra Majorstuen, Oslo.)

Bottle picked up at Centra. Close to black, good beige head. Lighly roasted aroma with coffee notes and berries. Taste is very similar, to me it loses a bit out on taste by having a low abv. Would have liked this a bit stronger with a bit more body.

gyllenbock (5728) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUN 20, 2011
On tap at Cardinal, Stavanger in June 2011. Black with a creamy head. Roasted aroma with malt, caramel, coffee and some light notes of hops. The same in the taste. Good but not excellent. Very easy to drink.

Bottle. Dark brown, black in glass, very thin offwhite head, lacings is not very pleasent. Aroma of coffee and chocolate, hints of prunes. Body is quite malty, not much sweetness. Quite dry mouthfeel. Finish is super hoppy and quite bitter. Nice

Bottle. Pours black, with a big, airy head. Good aroma with notes of burned malt, candi sugar and some dark fruit. Pleasant acidic taste of burned malt, which gives a dry, lasting aftertaste.

Bottle from Centra, Oslo. Black with a red taint. Small light beige head with decent retention. Aroma of roasted malt, smoked wood, tar, licorice. Medium/light body, quite smooth. Average carbonation. Taste is dry and woody with coffee and raw licorice. Very nice stout.

ClubGonzo (4617) - Bergen, NORWAY - MAR 15, 2011
Bottle from Vaaland Spesialbutikken, Bryne. Pours a deep brown, near-black body with a medium white head. Aroma is strong mocha tones with hints of milk chocolate and coffee. Pretty nice. Taste is deep roasted malts, coffee and hints of mocha and cocoa. Yummy. Lots of flavor for a dry stout, and great "everyday beer"-contender to f.ex. Guinness. One of the few nice surprises among the low ABV beers I got from Vaaland Spesialbutikken this time around.
