330ml bottle served lightly chilled at Henrik Øl & Vinstove in Bergen. Tan, bubbly head over jet black body. Spotty laceworks on the glass. Plain dark malty aroma. Roasted, almost burnt, taste of coffee malts with a touch of bitter chocolate to the ending. A bit diluted mouthfeel and mediocre for the style, but, nonetheless, drinkable (18.06.2009).

7 April 2009. Tap at Cardinal. This was a large surprise. Black, with delicious brown head. Almost like the favourite Guiness. A bit more alcohol and a bit more carbonized. Very smooth, with a roasted aftertaste.

It is black with a light brown and creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, light chocolate and spice. The flavour has a light sweetness and notes of roasted malt, light smoke and coffee and the finish is dry with light notes of citrus. It is a nice stout with a rather low ABV.

Bottle. [thank you Emil/sk8viking]
Pours black with red edges. A fizzy, off-white head on top. Sweet aroma, rye bread, light roasted and some tart berries. Medium carbonation, okay mouthfeel. Flavour starts with quite a bit of metal, but it gets less as it breathes. Subdued sweetness with a touch of tartness. A fine, long, dry and roasted aftertaste.

On tap at the brewery 03.10.2008. Pours almost black with a big beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and liquorice. Tastes sweet and spicy and the liquorice lurks in the background. Like it

330 ml bottle. Black with reddish brown hues. Medium-sized off-white head. Creamy oaty aroma with a light roastedness. Perfect carbonation level. Silky texture. Surely there must be some oat in there. Little hops except for a distinct crisp minty hop bitterness that starts in the middle and lingers into the finish. Soft dark malts. The sharpness seems to come from the hops. Light-bodied. Hints of dark chocolate and coffee. Overall a decent and very drinkable stout. Thanks to Sigmund.
