Bottle. [thank you Emil/sk8viking]
Pours black with red edges. A fizzy, off-white head on top. Sweet aroma, rye bread, light roasted and some tart berries. Medium carbonation, okay mouthfeel. Flavour starts with quite a bit of metal, but it gets less as it breathes. Subdued sweetness with a touch of tartness. A fine, long, dry and roasted aftertaste.

Bottle, thanks to sk8viking for sharing. Clear brown coloured with a medium sized beige head. Aroma of dried fruits and hay with notes of coffee. Flavour of caramel, hay and coffee with notes of cardboard. Bitter finish.

On tap at the brewery 03.10.2008. Pours almost black with a big beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and liquorice. Tastes sweet and spicy and the liquorice lurks in the background. Like it

330 ml bottle. Black with reddish brown hues. Medium-sized off-white head. Creamy oaty aroma with a light roastedness. Perfect carbonation level. Silky texture. Surely there must be some oat in there. Little hops except for a distinct crisp minty hop bitterness that starts in the middle and lingers into the finish. Soft dark malts. The sharpness seems to come from the hops. Light-bodied. Hints of dark chocolate and coffee. Overall a decent and very drinkable stout. Thanks to Sigmund.

Bottle. A black beer with a small, firm beige head. Roasted, or maybe rather burnt aroma with some notes of dried fruits and coffee. A little touch of coffee too. Thin in the mouth, after all it’s just 4.7% ABV, and rather dry and silky. Still it’s giving a sweet impression, especially in the finish, along with coffee, burnt malt and a touch of chocolate and dried fruits. The finish has a nice burnt bitterness with little evidence of hops. A pleasant, quaffable and well-tasting example of the species. (081214)

Thanks yngwie for the bottle. Dark ruby-brown with good clarity. Fingerthick tan head quickly fading to a ring of foam. Toasted, cheesy, light peppery malt aroma. Taste is fairly sweet, sourish, lightly roasted malts, a solid bittterness and nice touch of berries. Quite filling. Light bitter, sour-fruity ending. Norwegian Stout!

UPDATED: AUG 13, 2009 Tap at Cardinal, Stavanger. The color is black. Nice creamy, tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, dark fruit with hints of sourness. The flavor is most of all roasted, but also smoke. The dark fruit is there too, and the sourness makes this a different, interesting end very fine stout. The bottle version is also very nice.

Specially brewed for the World Championship of Sheep Shearing 2008 (no kidding!). Sampled on tap at Gladmatfestivalen, Stavanger. Black colour, dark brown in the highlights. Lasting creamy tan head. Pleasant roasty aroma and flavour, fairly dry, with a slight acidity in the finish. A quite nice stout this one.
