This monstrosity was drank from the can at Ye Olde Colusseum Bar. This takes some explaining. I went on a pub crawl in Rome, which advertised free happy hour with beer and wine at the first bar. Well, the first bar turned out to be a semi-hidden small plaza halfway up the hill directly next to the Colusseum. As in, it was a park. The so called free happy hour was a two gallon jug of white wine and a couple of Costco style crates of this wonderous stuff. Had two during my stay at YOCB, since I had had a decent amount of beer and bourbon earlier. It was just phenomenal to be swigging this crazy ass stuff and talking with random Canadians and Australians, then suddenly realizing every now and then that the bloody Colusseum, all lit up, is right there in front of your face. Nutsness. Very strange tasting beer, might take some getting used to but could be a decent cheapie for parties.

Tin, Rodos. Hints of banana candy and Piz Buin on snout- some esters, before the usual glue and white flour kicks in. Clean gold with a slim but clinging white head. Mushy slightly vegetal flavour with sherbet dabs, no screaming adjuncts or off notes. Tolerable.

Can from Brouwerij de Dissel, Breda. 4,3% ABV. Clear golden pour, foamy white head that laces. Aroma of grain, soap, hay and slightly metallic. Flavor is watery grainy, slightly bitter, crispy and a bit malty and with a bitter finish.

UPDATED: AUG 17, 2009 can.33cl. from somewhere in faliraki, rhodos, greece. clear faint yellow, large white head. aroma is a very faint caramelly sweetness, and not much else. flavor is faint sweet, faint bitterhoppy, a bit boring. also a strange unwanted flavor like metal or perhaps soaked cardboard.

Canned: Yet another fantastic brew enjoyed on the island of rhodes. Golden coloured. Clear. Fluffy white head. Grassy and light fruity and sweet brew. dosn’t have much to offer, but quite refreshing in the warmth. Is quite watery.

Sampled this beer from the bottle while on vacation in Greece. A grainy hops and barley aroma with some sour yeast scents too. A light, clear gold aroma with a moderate white head with short retention. The beer was heavily sour with some bitterness. A wet, medium body with moderate mouthfeel and low carbonation. Not a very good beer, among the worst I have had from Belgium.

Can. A golden beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet with primary notes of metal, but also lighter notes of alcohol and nuts, leaging to a dry bitter finish. The flavor is not good.
