Brewed for the open day and for the brett festival in Amsterdam. Will probably remain in the portfolio in a non brett version

Bottle, bb 3-2015. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma: roast, brett funkyness. Taste: liquorice, vanilla, chocolate, brett, wood, white currants, somehow reminds me a bit of vanilla coke. Surprisingly full body for the abv, smooth mouthfeel, moderate sweet, moderate carbonation, long lasting sweet liquorice finish.

Bottle. It pours a creamy, dark beige body over a next to black body. Nice lacings. Some funky notes in the aroma, with dried fruits, dark chocolate, caramel and prunes. It’s lightly sweetish on the palate, mostly on the dry side though, with dark chocolate, caramel, roasted malts and some prunes. Full body and a pleasant carbonation level. Lasting roasted finish with prunes, dark chocolate and caramel sauce. Tasteful and complex. And very nice. 140816

Bottle 330ml @ Geokkjer
Pours black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, brett and hint of licorice. Taste is light to medium sweet, light sour and light bitter with a long chocolate and brett finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle, traded with Bierkoning. Very interesting... it initially reeks of horse sweat and a Polish smoked sheep milk cheese in the state of decomposition, so that I had to wait for a while before I was able to convince myself into taking the first sip. Then somehow that stench stopped being nauseating while remaining intriguing, before shifting toward pleasant by the end of the glass. Apart from horse sweat, there is the porter as such, with roast, sweetish chocolate and salty soy sauce. The malts are pleasantly enlivened by the funky brett notes so that it is quite a refreshing porter. Very tasty actually, once I got used to the smell. It is a similar case with very ripe camembert. It stinks but it tastes good and even the stench is not something to be missed.

Bottle from bierkoning, many thanks!

Hmm interesting beer for sure; a small Dutch brewer making a porter with Brett? Well the dark looks, eh, look promising. Bit too frothy head perhaps. Certainly has quite some sourness (more just the Orval type Brett, then?) with roasty malts a bit dimmed. Also some candy sweetness notes. Interesting and novel, but admitedly I would have liked a little less sourness here. Taste is more balanced luckily, with nice roasted flavours with the brett and yeasty notes. Fun beer to try and I enjoyed it, despite the aroma being a bit too unbalanced for me. (33cl bottle from SpeciaalBierPakket)

33 cl bottle @ home, about a year old. Very dark color. Huge, frothy, rocky beige head, good retention. Aroma’s of roasted malts, red fruit, brett/funk. Even more brett retronasal. Flavor is roasted, bretty, a bit bitter chocolate, some light tartness. Light bodied. High carbonation. Finishes with lots of roast, ashy - that’s the best part of this beer. I’d be very curious about a proper (no brett) version.

33 cl bottle from a trade. Pours almost black with a tan head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is brett with a mix of burned malts. Flavour is very bretty at first but when it warms up it becomes more like a porter. Too many different flavours going on here...

Many thanks for this bottle to kappldav123. Pours dark brown/black with a thin tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate.
